What is the best floor standing hi-fi speaker for under $200 each?

I listen to classical music.

1. why floor standing? bose acoustimas cubed wall speakers are by far the best ever.
2. OK, so they are a couple of bucks over your $200 each budget but, they are great sounding floor standing speakers
3. A couple of good ones I can recommend... - Acoustech HT-75 ~$280/pr. - Athena AS-F2.2 ~$400/pr.-$600/pr. These both have great sensitivity, excellent bass response, and superb dynamics for their price level. Both quite musical as well. Either of these should match quite well for classical music. Throw in a powered subwoofer if you want that last bit of bottom end. I recommend either Hsu Research or Dayton Audio for a good value and performance in a powered subwoofer system... _ _ _ _ _
4. There is no best, it's what 'your' ears tell you. Polk Audio makes nice sounding speakers. I had 4 different pairs from Polk. But I think for that price range, your pickings will be somewhat slim. I personally like Klipsch, I have a pair of KLF-30's, but they sold for $1800/pr, others hate em. Just like Bose. Go online to Crutchfield, they also have great phone support.

There a LOTS of great sounding and EXPENSIVE speakers in the world, but for the MONEY you should go and listen to PARADIGM...You can't find a better speaker at these prices...Use Paradigm's website to find a dealer near you. 6. Try visiting Ascend Acoustics website - the 340's look really good to me.... check out there forum if you have specific questions. These speakers are 'large' bookshelf, but you can purchase a stand that makes them look floorstanding. Very good value.
