I want a microphone, a mic stand , and a speaker for the microphone. Any sugguestions on the best stuff to buy

I'm a singer and I want a microphone set up for my garage.How do I know what to get? What is the good stuff? And If it is for a microphone....is it a speaker or and amp...and what is the difference?

2. Price isn't always a good way to determine quality. If depends on if you want just anything, or if you want a truly good mic. Guitar Center has a pretty good selection. I like the Shure SM57 Instrument/Vocal Mic. It works on stage and it sounds good at home too. If you're not really going to be moving around a lot, I suggest the Shure 55SH Series II Mic. It has the old school look, and it pics up hardly any sound from the back side, which means most of the sound it picks up is coming from you.
