Our Happy Plant stem has bent and broken in one spot. Will the plant survive this?

The plant is 2.2m high and during a move, the stem has split about 1/2 way along. It has not broken off completely. We have managed to keep it in one piece but it will not stand up on it's own. The plant is now being held up with the assistance of a stake. Will the stem be able to repair itself and continue to be able to carry water or will this have completely killed the plant? Is there anything we can do to help it repair?

1. well it depends on the plant .but you did the best thing by giving it support.put it in a well lit area to promote new growth.some plants will spout new shoots elsewhere when damaged. Good Luck ! note; names are helpful
