Need help with finding an "exotic" plant for mothers day!?

My moms bf wants me to find an "exotic plant" for mothers day for my mom. My mom likes plants, but shes not crazy about them. Her bf thinks it would be a good idea to get her an exotic plant for mothers day...I need to know where I can get one fast and easy and what kind would you recommend getting. She has a lot of ordinary house plants so we need something that stands out but requires low to mid maintenance.

1. Im sure there are greenhouses around where you live that you could find a really exotic plant, but you could always go to lowes or homedepot., lowes have more of an exotic selection than homedepot where i live.
2. Does she have a Peace Lily? Those are nice plants and they are pretty when they flower... And they are pretty low maintenance...
