how do I get my snake plant to stand up?
I have a snake plant that only has about 5 leaves/branches to it. One of them tends to fall over a little bit and doesnt stand supported like the others. WHat can I do to either fix that or avoid it from happening again. Also Ive d the plant now for about two years and its only grown 3 more leaves/branches than I started with what can I do to get more?

- Well these are slow growing... Just tie the leaves together and keep it this way for some days... if it didn't help, remove that leave!!!... Are we talking about Sansevieria plant here?... I think you should water it less frequently and put it in a sunnier spot...
- bright light, warn temperatures keep it dryer in the winter than during summer keep it in the smallest pot possible to speed up the wet/dry cycle. stake the floppy leaf, if it is supported for a while(6 months), it may become stronger at the base so that it stands. the amount of light it receives will determine the rate of growth
- they like to be crowded or root bound. put your snake plant in long narrow pot and put a large rubber band to brace up. I have two of these plants like that. give it indirect light and good luck!
- I've had snake plant for years and can tell you they thrive on neglect, but they can be over water (especially in the winter) so be careful of that. I've tied mine together, as mohi a said, you can use fishing line to be discrete about it or if you choose to cut it off those cutting will grow in sand. Just cut it in about 3" pieces and stick them in sand. They might just grow in potting soil, not sure, but like I said they're pretty hardy. I can't find any info about why they bend or how to prevent it, if you find out why let me know please. Mine is growing so big and fat the whole plant leaned over. Not sure what that’s about. http://www.plantideas.com/in/in42.html http://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/431/ Good Luck
