has anyone done a cheesecake wedding cake?
I'm starting to entertain the thought of having a cheesecake wedding cake. The thing is I have cake stand that I want to use. I was wondering if I could stack cheesecakes on top of one another like a wedding cake or would they be to heavy. Has anyone done this or know anyone who has?

- No i have never heard of that but it sounds great. Good luckwith the whole "stacking".. i dont know how thats gonna work but YUM YUMMM lol
- I am not sure how it would work but that sounds like a really good idea to me. Unfortunately we bought our wedding cake through the place that we had our wedding and it was terrible. Have something that you like regardless of what it is, you will thank yourself in the end trust me!
- eww noo because i wouldnt want the people to all throw up durr
- Sounds awesome and like a hit for sure. Strawberries would beautiful to decorate with.
- Sounds incredibly delicious! I would call around to a few local bakeries for advice on this. They would know best. Normally, they would do something like a traditional wedding cake and then have little cheesecake squares the size of petit fours in little cupcake cups surrounding the cake.
- I did attend a small wedding where their was regular and cheese cake wedding cakes...I had cheese cake..OLOOLL
- If you're worried about how heavy they are why not put them on cakes stands that are different heights instead of stacking them on top of each other. Starting with the tallest stand then gradually getting shorter stands so they look like steps? Good for you for going for cheesecake, a really nice way to put your personal stamp on your wedding.
- Nope, and a lot of people don't like cheesecake. I'd have another option if I were you.
- See Hank's cheesecakes. com for pictures. Click on the picture of the angel with the fork, then select weddings on the left hand side. Plenty of decorating and stacking info. And yes, you can stack, and yes you can put them in single and double layers on stands. PS I've had Hank's cheesecake, it is good.
- Always wanted one, but when we started looking at bakeries to do our cake they looked at us like we were crazy. I found a website once of some bakery in like LA or someplace who did them and they were stacked. Can't find it now, but if I do I'll edit this and provide a link. But it is apparently possible. Bah, I found this...not stacked on top of each other but a nice alternative if you're doing it yourself and are worried about weight and stuff. http://www.wilton.com/recipes/recipesandprojects/wedding/gki_sm3tier.cfm If cheesecake is what you want then get it, just because not everyone likes it shouldn't matter. Not everyone likes regular cake either. Can't please everybody...
- A cheesecake wedding cake would be amazing. It would be more difficult to stack them, my best friend makes wedding cakes and suggested making several stacks instead of one tall one. There are a lot of creative ways to decorate cheesecakes too because they are soft. She thought it was a great idea. The most difficult thing is finding the cake person willing to do it and to transport them. Congratulations on your wedding. Have fun don't stress yourself out.
- My friend did this for her wedding and she went a bought a couple of the cake tiers and it looked and tasted amazing also i thought it was cool for something different http://www.joann.com/joann/catalog.jsp?CATID=cat3252&PRODID=xprd305812&source=search
- My best friend had a fake cake (styrofoam) decorated for pictures, then she served cheesecake slices. She had a table set with pre cut slices, and topping to choose from.......chocolate, strawberries, rasberry sauce....ect It was so good. Not sure about the stacking.....I think its a great idea
- I am having cheesecake but I am also having a traditional 4 tier wedding cake. Three cheesecakes to round off the table but they will not be stacked. Cheesecakes can be stacked though and made to look just like a traditional wedding cake. I will add links to cheesecake bakers in my area that do wedding cheesecakes. http://www.jerryscheesecakes.com/gallery.php All of Jerry's cakes are cheesecakes, so they look like regular wedding cake but they are in fact cheesecake. Same here with J. Annettes. http://www.jannettes.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page1.html So yes it can be done and it would be oh so delicious. I actually don't know too many people that don't like cheesecake so I think it would be great!
- Actually that sounds really good. I don't think it would hold up to stacking though. Maybe get plastic tiers that would hold up each layer instead of letting the cake support itself. Definitely call a local bakery and see what they say.
- it would be much more heavy than typical wedding cake... not to mention much more expensive! a friend of mine was thinking of having cheesecake for the wedding party only so it wouldn't cost too much but she got her cheesecake!
- We served a variety of cheescakes, but didn't have them set up in traditional tiered style. If you want them for display, best to go with a display where each tier is separate, instead of stacked one on top of the other. - Like the one with berries on this site, first column, scroll down - http://www.sedonaweddingcakes.com/Single_cheesecake.htm http://maudiescheesecake.com/wedding.html Other links through here - http://images.google.ca/images?q=cheesecake%20wedding%20cakes&ie=UTF-8&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi
- I went to a wedding that had an assortment of cheesecakes, not stacked on eachother, but all on one table. It was really yummy as I love, love, love cheesecake. I don't think the stacking idea will work, they used different cake stands at different heights to show off all of the cakes. It looked awesome, and with so many flavors everyone got the kind of cheesecake they liked!
- i have never been to a wedding but i have heard more and more thiat this is becoming more common! i love cheesecake but do remember that a lot of people dont care for cheesecake.
- I say go for it. Lydia provided beatiful pics of some ideas that you could use. I think we spend so much time; trying to please our guest at the weddings; go with what you like... I've never done it; but daring to be different is my motto. if people don't eat it or don't like it; that's too bad. Because if you had cake - there will be someone who doesn't like the cake...
- I love that idea. I have never seen it done but it would be great and very pretty and unusual. You would have to have it done by a pro though.
