Wedding Cake stand sizes?

okay, I'm new to this cake stand stuff. I'm making a wedding cake, 6in,8 in, 10 in. Do I need a cake stand 6in, 8in, 10 in or do they need to be bigger than the cakes? like 8 in, 10in, 12in? I am having a hard time finding a 6 in cake stand.

1. Get the size larger than the cake your looking for so 6" would be 8" and so on. You will need room for the icing, fondant, design, flowers, etc...
