  1. Your laptop should have a VGA port on it guaranteed. Now you need to check to see if your tv also has one. If so, just connect your tv and laptop with the VGA cable. Another option is HDMI. If your laptop has an HDMI port along with the tv, then you should be able to connect the two through an HDMI cable. I would go for the first option if you do not want to spend $20-$35 on an HDMI cable. But if you have an HDTV along with HDMI on laptop, then I would suggest getting the HDMI after all. Hopw this helps!
  2. If you are running windows, it usually supports multiple displays. If you have a VGA out (monitor out) on your laptop it probably supports it. The only version that I know doesn't support it is Windows 7 Starter which is installed on net books. Keep in mind that multiple display is different from just duplicating your screen on the TV, such as if you want to display a movie. This is supported by all computers with an output.
  3. 1) Right-click on your desktop --> you should see "Graphics properties" or "Properties" 2) Click on "Graphic properties" if available, else click on "Properties" 3) The resultant window will have 3 tabs - select the "Settings" tab 4) You should be able to see one option in the drop-down which supports/shows extended desktop 5) Select that option and connect your TV (HDMI cable I presume, S video should also work) 6) Drag the window that you wanna view on TV and maximize it.... (This is an option that worked for me.... Please drop me an email on further trouble.. we'll clean this up)
