- no, usually those things just hover in the air.
- Depends if you want one or not. If you are okay with it being on the floor then you don't need a stand, however I suspect you don't want it on the floor so you should use a stand.
- You can keep it on a dresser top if its sturdy
- I'd say so.
- I had my 15gallon on a dresser for a 4years, but slowly from spills and the weight the wood started to warp. this means there was more pressure on parts of the tank which can cause leaks or even burst the glass. you *can* keep tanks on sturdy surfaces, however you need to can an eye out for warping and make sure it's level.
- no, 10 and 15 gal tanks usually can be kept on most furniture (just dont put it on something that you know wont hold it)
- A small tank like that can go on a dresser, desk or sturdy coffee table etc. As long as it's a solid piece of furniture. Some of the cheap crappy stuff, not so good. Ian
- What are you going to do otherwise? Put it on the floor? Hang it from the ceiling? An average 15-gallon tank is about 2 feet long, so you could perhaps find a table or desk strong enough to support it (when full, it will weigh around 150 pounds). Otherwise, I strongly recommend that you obtain or build a stand, because an aquarium that is too low is hard to maintain and makes it hard to observe the fish in the tank.
- I don't understand if you mean something to put the tank on or if you mean if you need to buy a stand if you have a table or something to put it on you can just set it on any table. The only tanks that you may have to buy a stand for are around 75+ gallon tanks. I have a 55 gallon on a flimsy table and it works okay
- as long as the weight is spread evenly you could use a side table to hold it..
