I think that the candy that most stands for unity is M and Ms because they are all different on the outside, but the same on the inside. As for the essay, I think you can do it yourself. :)
Nice try, but I think it's pretty obvious SOMEone doesn't feel like writing an essay... But if I had to think of any candy item, I would say the Hershey Bar. Simply because it's the classic chocolate bar, everybody's heard of it. It has lasted all these years and it's still going strong.
