Why are all the gay guys in reality TV shows all the flamboyant ones?

It seems like the media only portays one stereotype and that is the flaming gay guy. In movies and TV shows that is the typical character type. Same with every reality show on major networks and shows on MTV and VH1....which are real gay people and not actors that are straight lol.

1. People love a good stereotype. Sigh...
2. Maybe cause the gay men who don't act so flamboyant are so hard to find to get on air because they act like everyday average men.
3. Reality tv shows are casted, filmed, and edited to be as shocking, dramatic, and in-your-face as possible. There is nothing realistic about reality shows.
