Where do you place jack stands on a 2008 ford escape?
Hello, I have heard that you can't place a jack and jack stands in the same places. Can anyone send a diagram of where they should go?

- The jack stand should support the frame.
- There is no actual frame, just some boxed supports that run the length of the body. On my wife's, for the rear I place the jack underneath the rear differential (it is all wheel drive, but you could do similar on the front wheel drive model), then place the jack stands at the front part of the trailing arm bracket (this is the metal arm that runs front-to-rear, is located in front of the rear tires, the stand is placed so that the arm does not touch the stand, only the bracket). On the front, I jack up one side at a time, then place the stand underneath the boxed support as far forward as possible (this would lie about as far forward as the door hinges for the front doors). I use a short piece of 2x4 board between the stand and body to distribute the weight and not cause any damage to the vehicle. You could do the same on the rear if you want; using a 2x4 between the stand and the body. The boxed part that I'm talking about is approximately 2" lower than the floor, and is about 2-3" wide.
