Are you interested in helping?

Everyone likes to complain about not being able to watch their favorite television programs because of the Writers Guild of America strike. I for one believe that we should do something about it and that is why I am proposing a national “Don’t Download Day” for Feb 5th, 2008. If you are interested in supporting the WGA on this day you will not view television/movie programming online, download WGA related content from online stores such as iTunes, and you will not rent or purchase DVDs. As much as I hate unnecessary forwards I am asking you to send this to anyone you think maybe interested in supporting the Writer Guild of America. Please, keep in mind that I am in no way affiliated with the WGA and this is not a WGA sponsored event. This is an idea from a member of the general public that believes in a cause, and who wants to show his support. Thank you for your support and feel free to contact me, Mayor Adam West cvg2005: We don't need everyone. Just enough people to make a difference. I understand that we can't get a 100% stop to streaming videos, but if the studios notice a big enough drop in the traffice to the site... who knows?

  1. I like what you're trying to do but I think it'd be near impossible to get everyone to agree to that. I have stopped watching streaming content on network sites. I don't download shows illegally. And I don't purchase shows from itunes. But none of that matters. If you want to get the networks attention, people need to stop watching primetime programming on television. If the ratings of popular shows drop dramatically, they will owe the advertisers one hell of an explanation. They need to see that they are losing money hand over fist. Then they might consider negotiating again.
  2. My cousin is in the WGA, there for I have actually never downloaded episodes online and never rented DVDs with the seasons of shows. I SUPPORT THE WGA 100%!
