Can you recommend a good indoor house plant for a home with cats?

Preferably a large, potted, floor plant standing around 3-4 feet. Low sunlight requirements a plus. Must be cat friendly as I have 2 little guys who will definitely sneak a taste or two. Thanks for the help! :-)

  1. Try Dog Wood Bush. The bark will keep them from shredding it.
  2. Catnip!
  3. I have a few cats in my house, they are all indoor cats and the only plant that I have found is plastic.Any thing real dosen't have a chance.
  4. Actually you can have anything that will grow inside, just sprinkle the soil & bottom few leaves with Cayenne pepper. Use enough so you can see if it's disturbed, & if it is, WATCH OUT, somewhere in your house is one pissed off cat who will never touch it again. works outside too, Oh & about the plant, shop a real nursery & ask for a "low light" specimen.
  5. house plants and cats do not mix they try to poop in the soil and dig it up and it gets everywhere
  6. cut a lemon in half a place one half in each pot works with our little girl
  7. Philodendron in a hanging flower pot.
  8. I have 3 cats and no plant is safe from "taste testing." Here are a couple of sites to look over and choose a plant or two from. http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/poison-control/plants/?plant_toxicity=non-toxic-to-cats http://www.catscans.com/plants.htm http://www.sniksnak.com/plants.html The only way I've managed to keep plants out of my darlings' mouths is to either hang them or keep them in a room the cats aren't in. I can keep them away when I'm present, but when I leave it's "munchie time." Good luck
