Which hotel in Las vegas should I book tomorrow?

Ok so my husband is taking me to Las vegas for my birthday in December (never been before) he is letting me plan everything. I am booking everything tomorrow and need help deciding on which hotel to book. Mirage or Treasure island? They are both around the same price even with the plane tickets... I'm going to list pros and cons... Mirage Pros: bigger rooms, get free bottles of water sent to room every day, get 2 free robes (it is a christmas deal I guess) 2 free tickets to their siegfried and roy's secret garden and dolphin habitat (I love dolphins plus they have very rare big cats in their garden) Newly renovated rooms, they have a gift shop type thing that if you order a day or two early (we will be there 3 days before my birthday then leaving the day after) they send up birthday balloons, champain, cake, (basically a lot of cool stuff). Cons: Doesn't have the nightclub I really want to go to in it, the night club would cost 50 dollars for both me and my husband, doesn't have one of the shows we are going to in it. Other info: has a 15 dollar a day resort fee TI Pros: Has the nightclub in it that I want to go to, it is free for guests, has the show we are seeing in it, has vip seats for the sirens show on the boat (just means you can be in the front or be able to see it well), the mall is practically next door. Cons: Not as much free, doesn't say anything about bringing things to the room besides food for room service, the rooms are smaller, not newly renovated. Other: they charge a 20 dollar a day resort fee Both hotels are right next to each other and connected by a tunnel or something (not sure what it is called). which one would you stay at? Which one do you think is better for us? to the one person that said the thing about the robes... they do say free to take home with you and to pick them up in the gift shop... https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=160&host=promo&code=holiday09 here is the site that says it...

  1. Don't bother booking a hotel, leave your husband at home and you can stay in my hotel room ;) I'm in the Bellagio, room 1157
  2. I love Las Vegas!!! Your husband made the right move to bring you there...a plus point for him:) Anyway coming back to your question, I would opt for Mirage definitely. The hotel is outstandingly beautiful and the services there are great. I love one of their lounges especially the Rhumbar Lounge, very intimate and exotic suitable for you and your husband. With all the extras given out by them which I can assure you is worth more than 50 dollars of paying for a nightclub fee but it is your birthday and you should have it all. I hope this helps. I found some websites which I found it very useful that could help you to make your decision http://www.lasvegas.com and http://www.holidaycityusa.com/ Good luck.
  3. It sounds like you are getting a better deal at the Mirage. I will definitely go with the Mirage. The rooms are better. Both hotels are located center strip, so you will be in the middle of the whole action. Have you considered booking your flight and hotel separately? Sometimes you get a better deal that way. For flights, check sites like Southwest airlines or US Airways. Also do a search on kayak engine. It will check all airlines going to Vegas and all major travel sites and return the cheapest fare. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/cheap-flights.php For hotels, book directly from the hotels using their discount promo codes to get the maximum discounts. Here are a few codes. http://www.lasvegas-how-to.com/las-vegas-promo-codes.php
  4. Mirage hands down. You're in the middle of everything (Caesars, Venetian, Harrahs, Bellagio) plus, there is a free tram that runs between the Mirage & TI so you can still get back an forth to the nightclub you want to visit with relative ease.
  5. I would definitely choose Mirage - it's a much nicer place, and you get a lot more bang for your buck there, especially with the deals you'd be getting. It's no big deal to run over to TI for the nightclub and the show - there is a tram if you don't want to walk it, but they're right next door to each other. Even though you'd have to pay for the nightclub, you're still going to come out ahead with all of the other things you get to do at Mirage for free. We didn't stay at a TI-related resort and they still let us into the VIP area for the Sirens show because it just wasn't busy. We also watched it once from farther back and could see things just fine. If you want to go to the mall, you can take the tram and then walk over from TI. But it's not a far walk from Mirage either. Mirage is also a bit closer to the center-strip area, which is a really lively and fun place. Lots to do around there.
  6. We found the rooms in TI great with fluffy thick towels and matts, but yes not the extras. However, when a friend stayed at Mirage I found the rooms average. The resort fees I believe (LV Local) are room taxes based on cost of room. I would take the best deal for the room and extras you desire. The hotels are connected by a free tram (for anyone) not underground. You enter from inside TI but it is an outside entrance at Mirage. Since this is a very special occasion, pick what makes your trip the best memory!
  7. First thing about the Mirage is that those robes are not free to take just free to use while there. If they are missing you will be charged a pretty penny. Mirage has a better pool as the pool at the TI is an afterthought and is very small. Stay at the Mirage rather than TI. The resort fees are running rampant through the MGM properties so you have to be careful. Harrahs properties only have two that charge resort fees and they really aren't that much However you still have to add them to your daily room rate when figuring on a hotel. With TI rate at $20.00 a night that will take them higher than other properties that don't charge a "resort fee". Plus you are correct in that the robes are free during that promotion. That would be a clincher to book there then.
  8. Mirage plus mirage is very very very very close to Treasure Island so the mall is still next door =]
  9. Are you kidding me! I stayed at both and the Mirage is waaaaaay better by pool and club standards!! Believe me,they have the better restaurants and it just feel more comfy for me at the Mirage, they have a club called Jet!! You don't want to go there? Thats like one of the BEST clubs in vegas TI has the Christian Audigier the Nightclub but i still like the Jet crowd better! Well you going on December i doubt the pool will be open. Plus the free robes then i would say Mirage! They do have a tunnel interconnecting the two casinos.. Mirage has a place called BLT Burger, Best burgers i had so far!!
  10. Well, I'm booked at the Mirage, but I didn't see where I get a free robe, so I had to look it up. Sadly for me it's only available during December. If those robes are truly 1st class hotel quality (like www.cottonpalace.com sells to hotels), the deal is too good to pass up.
