what are my chances of getting half-tix for these broadway shows?

i'm heading to broadway in december and i have to see these shows: Shrek Next To Normal In The Heights Do you reckon I could get half-priced tickets on the day for these, or do I have to book ahead and pay full-price?

1. If you really want to see them, I would book ahead... not worth the risk... would be shit if you couldn't get tix on the day
2. For Shrek, I'm almost certain you can get them day off, half price. It's not really a popular show right now. In the Heights is a little more iffy, but you can still get them. Out of the three shows, you should book ahead for NEXT TO NORMAL. It's the most popular out of the three. Especially during the holiday month of Dec. tickets are not always avaibable...So if you really have your heart set on getting to these shows book ahead in all three. You can get discount tickets online for all three shows from places like theatermania.com I'm a member and I get 75 dollar tickets to these shows! Hope this helps!
