What english horse shows can a quarter horse show in?

So I was wondering what shows a quarter horse can show in. I want to show in the Illinois state fair next year but there are no like shows that a quarter horse can show in which is what I have. I want to show in the three gaited pleasure show but I don't know if a quarter horse can be three gaited. In the show you have to walk, park trot, and canter. Also what is a park trot? Thanks!

  1. Well, i don't know what a park trot is, but i know any horse can compete in any discipline, unless you are trying to enter a mini in a thoroughbred race. Your horse should be able to do whatever discipline you want, you just have to teach him.
  2. You may enter your horse in any class that is not breed specific. Your horse is three gaited. Three gaited means, walk, trot and canter. Good luck at the fair!
  3. Why cant a quarter horse show? They are one of the most popularist breeds, i dont get that, unless its a one breed show...which i never saw or heard of...to be honest.
  4. Anything that's not for breeds other than quarter horse.
  5. All American Quarter Horse Congress, of AQHA, in Columbus, Ohio. That's about as talented it gets! Edit- My lord! What are all the thumbs down for? I think everyone's got a good say here.
  6. You should be able to enter just about every class except breed specific classes. That said, Quarter horses are not gaited. A Park trot is usually seen in high stepping horses such as the standard bred - a quarter horse would just not be able to achieve this. It is a collected trot with extreme elevation of the forelegs. The State fair should have tons of equitation type classes that you and you horse should enjoy!
  7. Yahanson :) I live like 10 minutes from there, free entry by walking every fall. It's a great place. Anyhow Quarter horses are capable of doing almost anything as long as they are built right. A lot are bred for hunters/jumpers now day. Train your horse and get him conditioned,he can do just about anything.
