Would you use this project for wedding cake stand?
My grandmother has fine wedding china, and I was considering using them for this cake stand idea, http://www.stylemepretty.com/2008/06/03/cake-stands/ Do you think this could be sturdy enough for a small 1-tier wedding cake? I was going to do 3 mini cakes (each enough for 12 servings) and sit them on these plates. Have you tried this? Did it work?

- That looks so great! And like a very new and fresh idea! Please answer mine: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Auooy7jF7E.PaC9PSd2BFr_sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090528195409AAcrYwd
- the only problem I see with that project is that a dinner plate is not shaped the same as a cake stand. a cake stand has a flat top, a dinner plate is very slightly bowl shaped. with this dip in the middle of your stand you would have to make sure that the cake (on a cake board) was absolutely perfectly centered, or it would slip. great for cupcakes I guess, but I wouldnt use it for a wedding cake.
- Very good and a new exciting idea...go with it Answer mine plz http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Al.zFzeFk510GOGcEJtc3xjsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090528112022AAjR9Hj
- The problem is that the pieces need to be attached with epoxy, thus probably ruining the pieces for use separately afterwards. Might be a better idea to pick up inexpensive pieces at a thrift store, etc. and then do them.
