What are the effects of watching reality TV shows like CSI:Miami on people?

I am trying to write an essay on "The effects of reality TV shows on the viewers" for my school. I need comments and suggestions from people who like watching or those who do not like watching it and why? All kind of views are welcomed. Please write as much as you can. Thanks.

1. CSI is not a reality show. Shows like "Survivor" are reality shows.
2. Although csi is not a reality show i think it gives people the wrong idea. Although i enjoy the show on a regular basis i think it informs viewers with wrong information. Im sure you wouldnt wear your best shirt, high heels and your hair down to go and check out a crime scene and a dead victim. Most things on that show are played and non fiction. Hope i could help. 3. i think although television shows like csi are entertaining some people can get the reality and the entertaining confused.... some people don't realize that actual cases take months to solve and you don't always get dna results in 5 min.... i enjoy shows like csi and law and order.... i think another reason people enjoy watching reality television in general because it makes them feel better about themselves... watching people make fools of themselves on national television.....
4. Most CSI 's do not look like they just came off the runway in Paris. They are often working on three horrific crimes at the same time . Horrific crimes do happen, but not in record numbers. DNA testing does not come back in a few minutes nor does ballistic testing. CSIs gather and examine evidence... it's homicide detectives who interview possible suspects. And since when does anyone from the morgue track a criminal and make the arrest.
