  1. In my own entirely subjective opinion, "Chicago", "Billy Elliot" and "Wicked" for musicals, "The 39 Steps" for a light non-musical, "Mary Stuart" for something more dramatic. If you wanted an Off-Bradway musical that's silly but fun, try "The Toxic Avenger". But first things first. Buy a copy of the Sunday "New York Times" or check Playbill on line.
  2. Wicked- MY TOP RECCOMENDATION. The story of the Wizard of OZ from the point of view of the Wicked Witch of the West. Billy Elliot (elton john show about boy who is determine to dance, best musical of the year winner) Next To Normal-Family struggling with their bi-polar mother, shows how stressful stress really is. (Best Score) Legally Blonde the musical- based on movie, idk if your group is just girls? The Phantom of the Opera-Classic Mamma Mia! Mary Poppins The Lion King
  3. Wicked Chicago Guys and Dolls West side Story The Lion King
  4. Wicked - Definitely. So amazing. The story is just so great, the music and acting is too. The effects are fantastic! It's so good. In the Heights - One of the best. I loved it. It's funny and so enjoyable to watch. The message it portrays is just so good and everyone in it is fabulous! I don't like when people rap, it really bothers me. But in this show it was so fun to listen to! You kind of forget it's broadway, then you hear the amazing singing in it and are reminded that it's a Broadway show. West Side Story - Everyone in the revival is so talented. It's such a classic story so it's just as good as all the new shows without all of the fancy sets and effects. Will keep you crying for at least 5 minutes after it ends. I cried for 20. It is so powerful. All appropriate for 12-14 year old. There are a few things that might not be, but they are VERY subtle. Ones to avoid: Avenue Q, even though it's puppets, very dirty. One song is called "the internet is for porn". I heard it's very good though. I would leave your kids home for that one. Next to Normal, it's supposed to be very good, but again, maybe a little to heavy for kids. About a family struggling with their bipolar mother.
