What the cheapest way to see as many Broadway shows in three nights/four days?

My friends and I are planning a trip to NYC in August and we want to see as many Broadway shows as possible without going into serious debt. I know about the Times Square Ticket Booth, but I was wondering if there was any other ways to get cheap Broadway tickets. We want to have at least one show set in stone by the time we get there.

1. I saw some scalpers around the ticket booth. Around Broadway in Times Square. That's the only way I could think of. Otherwise your gonna have to use the Ticket Booth which= Big $! Good luck, I was there a few days ago, and that's all I could see, I would ask maybe a waiter at a restaurant. Or a local.
2. There's a booth right in the middle of Times Square called "TKTS" where you can get last minute cut-rate tickets to all the big shows, so go there every day and get on line and you'll do great!! Good luck, and the link below is to a webpage all about the TKTS booths...
