Where to find 55 gallon double aquarium stand?
I want to be able to put my fish tank and snake tank on the same stand... but I cannot seem to find double stands for large tanks. I've searched online, and the biggest I've seen so far is 30"...which only holds one or two 20gal tanks. Is this really a D.I.Y thing? Or does anyone know anywhere that I could find one or the best way to go about it?

- If you can't find a ready-made stand then the best place to look would be a custom aquarium manufacturer, these usually manufacture custom cabinets and stands. However the cost will inevitably be greater.
- They sell metal stands that will hold a 55 gal and two 10 gal on the bottom. You might want to look into doing it your self it could be fun.
- DIY is definitely the way to go. Or at least I would. Stands are really easy to make. specially if they are rectangular. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eykJXgu8rh0 One thing you gotta watch out for though. I've never owned a snake before, but I've seen some snakes at the stores with a heating lamp which could cause a problem. The temp. on your fish tank can rise. Just an observation.
- Sounds like a DIY job to me. Easy enough if you have some basic tools, 4x2s and plywoood from any hardware store, plenty of screws and glue and it's easy enough. Paint or varnish and a bit of wooden trim and you can even make it look good. I would put the fish tank on the lower level, then the almost empty (lightweight) snake tank can go on top. Go to http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/ and do a search on DIY tankstands. There are a lot of very large homebuilt stands there that will give you some ideas on how to put the stand together.
