How do I get the job to play music for reality TV shows like The Real World, Rock Of Love, The Hills ..?

I'm interested in doing back round music, but not so much sound effects, more like the actual songs. For instance if you watch the real world, or the hills, throughout the entire show their is music playing by many different artist, and they usually put the song title and artist at the bottom. How would I go about getting into something like this as a career? thank you!

1. Are you asking how to go about becoming a musician? Pick an instrument and play it....
2. So you want to be in a band? Or do want to something more like a musical director, engineer, composer, editor.....
3. You would probably have to get a some kind of sound tech certificate or training which would be under media arts. So most likely you would have to major in the media arts field. try going to a college and meet with an adviser and tell them your interested in being a sound tech and they'll tell you what you need to take to become one!
