I'm looking for the name of a plant that looks like a big clump of crab grass it stands about two feet tall ?

It stands about two feet tall, and about two feet around. It was green all winter long. It's planted in gravel. It will get full afternoon sun and proably only watered by God.

1. It is called quack grass looks almost the same as crab grass but does not turn purple and die in the fall. it is technically a type of grass so there is no control on the maret for it. If it is in gravel and you want to get rid of it buy a product called Round-up and spray it that will take care of it because Round-up is total vegetation control.

4. Try researching Pompass grass or Monkey grass.
5. There are sooo many grasses that they sell at garden centers,that it could be one of many! Do you know if someone planted it? Or did it just come up on its own? You should take a picture of it&and a good size clipping of it to your garden center! You did not say if you liked it or wanted to keep it? I have many different ornamental grasses in my yard that My Wife&I planted. I have them any where from 6in up to 6ft+. I have some that are all green,some blueish,green with white lines[varigated miscanthis] wich is about 5ft tall,and I have a miscanthus gracillimus that is 6ft+and 3ft+wide. They are all very hardy where I live[Michigan] but they turn brown in winter.With big plumes on top,that the birds like! I cut them to the ground in the spring. Then they grow back. You can get books on grasses. But if you dont want it, cut it down to the ground&wait till it starts to grow back,about 5-6in &spray it with roundup. It may take a few times of spraying it to kill it depending what grass it is!! Spray it heavy!
