How come people who do drugs on documentaries and reality TV shows don't get in trouble?

Public Comments

  1. Because the shows take quite a while to finally be shown. During that time they may have cleaned up or moved on.
  2. I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED THAT!!!! i'll be waiting to see what ppl answer .
  3. Because by the time they make it to "Intervention", they're already in enough trouble. But aside from that, not _everybody_ who imbibes an illegal drug HAS to be charged with a crime, ya know! IMO, most of them should be offered an opportunity for treatment, not prison. Our legal system is overloaded with so many cases like that, that it is often unable to speedily handle far more serious crimes. On top of that, the prisons are overcrowded because of such victimless crimes, making incarceration of those people a veritable joke - they go in one day and out the next.
  4. It takes an arresting police officer on site to want to make an arrest. Any prosecutor or police official witnessing any drug activity on TV, would probably love to indict them all, but network lawyers are good and plentiful. Can't use their material as evidence.
  5. National Geographic recently interviewed "football terrorists" - people who plants bombs at Holland's soccer games. 4 out of the 15 or so they interviewed had no mask, but I'd imagine the names they used were fake. As for the question, it would be very difficult for a prosecutor to prove the case as they can say the coke was sugar or the weed was oregano.
