What's the best way to get discount tickets to Broadway shows?
I'm a big theater fan, but Broadway prices are way out of my budget ($120 per ticket?!), so I'm looking for the best way to get good Broadway tickets that won't cost a fortune. Any ideas? (I've tried the half-price booth, but I hate the unpredictability, and unfortunately I don't qualify for student tickets.)

- I go to a lot broadway shows myself and i have found that when it gets close to the event and they have lot's of tickets the prices go down a lot in price. I use http://www.wiztickets.com myself and use this discount code WIZD it will give 5% off not a lot but when you buy your tickets close to the date it will come out to a great deal. I hope this helps.
- Discount codes are definitely the best way to go for getting deep discounts on Broadway tickets. You can get deals just as good as at the half-price booth (sometimes even better), but you don't have to wait until the last minute to buy your tickets. These codes are all over the place - email lists, snail mail ads, and especially online. www.nytix.com has the best selection, and you can see a list of all the discount codes they have here http://www.nytix.com/Links/Broadway/listofcurrentshows.html. Once you get the code, you have the option of buying your tickets online, by phone, or in person at the box office.
- This may overwhelm you, the following are excellent sources for discount ticket coupons: http://www.playbill.com - Sign up for Playbill's email newsletter and get several offers a week on great ticket deals. Also can get deals from their website as well. http://www.seasonofsavings.com - Sign up for SoS and get emails for great deals and go on website for more! http://www.hitshowclub.com - AAA member discount tickets http://www.broadwaybox.com - Puts all coupon codes for tickets on one site! Good luck! EDIT: If you're one of the following: full-time students, full-time teachers, union members, retirees, civil service employees, staff members of not-for-profit organizations, performing arts professionals, members of the armed forces or clergy: you qualify for a TKTS membership, which is $28 a year and you get access to TKTS tickets online for $20-$36 a ticket. Catch is you don't know the seat assignments until you get to the show.
