What is the name for the displays on calculators that have fixed number shapes?

The answer is not LCD, this can refer more broadly to other LCD displays which have square points or "pixels". I'm looking for the term that applies to calculator and other device displays who's characters look like an 8 and turns on and off parts of the 8 to display different numbers.
