Can I use a Visa gift card online to purchase Amtrak train tickets and tickets to two Broadway shows?

I'm 16 and I am going to take a trip to New York in March and see two Broadway shows. Would I be able to buy a Visa gift card at Wal-Mart with cash and then use the gift card to purchase all of my tickets on-line? Has anyone ever done anything like this? Thank you!

1. If it says that it is a master card or visa on it, I have heard that you can. It really like a debit card. Your best bet is to look up the plays you want to see online just to make sure. And Amtrak should be no problem. just make sure that you have activated the card first of course.
2. Si' chiquita, no problema, they work just like a debit card, just make sure you have enough dinero on the card for the amount you need to pay online, also the company will ask what type of card, just tell them it is a gift card, they will know what to do...have a good time!

4. Yes, you should be able to. If the card carries the MasterCard or Visa logo on it, then it can be used as credit. When paying you'll be asked for what kind of credit card it is. Also, since the card will not have your name, just type in your name when it asks for the cardholder's name and it should be fine. You won't need the credit card when you're picking up your tickets, they email you a printable reservation receipt with a barcode for the station. You will, however, need the credit card when picking up your tickets at the Broadway shows' box offices to pick up tickets. I do highly recommend, since you're only 16, that you think about student rush. With Student ID, you can get mad cheap tickets (we're talking less than 30$). The only kicker is you have to be at the box office at opening time, around 9-10am to get em. Otherwise, use TKTS booths scattered around NYC, but the main one is in Times Square.
