Museum: Is it likely that when Saddam was overthrown by other dictators ancient exhibits were sought after?

by dealers so they paid off the local thieving gypsies to take it for them from the museum? That way it makes it look like the locals did it off their own back. It seems when they took Iraq it just let all the thieves openly turn the place over without punishment then along came the biggest criminals going the US military.

  1. as with all types of human displacement whether through a man made or natural disaster/ disturbance there will always be greedy individuals flocking like vultures seeking the pound notes. countries also are in on the act but do not believe that the u.s are always at the front of things i seem too remember the thing called the british empire and the commonwealth! fortunes made by quite a few people!
  2. Not so much Ancient artrefascts, but all the American dlollars in Iraqi banks (and I mean lots of dollars) sort of disappeared, thats part of why the Americans were so keen to get to Bagdhad, they got cut off from their supply lines!
  3. The U.S. military are criminals? Seems to me you are either gravely mistaken, misled, or stupid. You better thank the U.S. Military that you're able to post such nonsense as this online without fear of censure or imprisonment. You know it wasn't always this way. During the War Between the States, if you criticized the northern government, the president, or the military, you'd find yourself arrested in the middle of the night and carted off to a northern prison without a trial, or even knowing what you'd been arrested for.
  4. It's possible. Anything on e-bay? just rabbitin
  5. Yeah, they looted priceless artifacts of numerous ancient civilizations from the museums and one of the oldest universities in the world. The Marines were stationed in front of the Iraqi Oil Ministry building which came out unscathed. I wonder why...
