Niagara Falls Tips - inexpensive places to eat?

We are leaving for a week to Niagara Falls and need some ideas of where to eat that don't cost $20 per person each meal.Thanks. Also and fun things to do in the winter time? We have already taken the kids to the Bird and butterfly exhibits.

1. It depends on weather you are staying on the American side or the Canadian side. We stayed on the Canadian side and found that EVERYTHING was expensive. We went to a Denny's that advertised as "The cheapest dinner in town" and had to walk out because it was CRAZY expensive! We ended up eating at a Subway, which was some what reasonable. Also, STAY AWAY from chinese restaurants on the Canadian side! BAD idea.... ! We had a horrible experience there.
2. First of all, $20 isn't much for dinner these days, especially since food prices have recently gone through the roof. Secondly, I disagree about the Chinese restaurants on the Canadian side. They're reasonable and authentic. I've enjoyed them many times. You will have a blast in NF! Be sure to splurge to take the fast elevator ride to the top of the Skylon Tower. And try to drive across the Peace Bridge to see some historical sites in Buffalo -- it's a great place.
3. The restaurants that are near the falls are going to be more expensive. And almost anywhere people eat as a family is going to be a little pricey. But i recommend that if you are coming to Niagara Falls from far away you should deffinately check out the rainforest cafe. it is a little pricey. but portions are pretty big, and its a very interesting atmosphere. it is also close to the falls!
4. Falls Manor is really good home-style cooking. We had their special (which that day was 3 pieces of fried chicken, potatoes, veggies and dessert) and it was only $8 per person. This is right on Lundy's Lane approx. 2 or 3 km from the falls. When driving away from the falls it is on the left hand side and it has a blue and yellow sign with a chicken on it.
