Does anyone know how people get to work in merch stands?

I've seen a couple people on myspace and there like I work in merch stands do you like have to know the band for that or what? Does anyone know?

1. most of the time a band would love a helping hand, just find a band you want to help out and ask them about it. you can ask for a small percent of your sells and they will usually agree but yeah mostly its just friends of the bands! if your in florida we'll hire you drop us a line!
