Is it wrong to make posters of Museum exhibits and sell the banners at ebay? Will the Museums will pay me for promoting their exhibits and their website for visitors to learn about their services?

1. They already have someone to do that! Museums employ advertising and publishing staff. You will be in serious breach of their reproduction rights - stay clear. When I worked at the National Gallery in London, there was a whole department concerned with publishing, publicity, and legal reproduction of images, and pursuing illegal publishers with a view to compensation.
