Where does India stands in terms of wheat yield per hectare? Which country is the largest producer of wheat in the world and which country has best yield?

1. I know answer to your one question. Here is the answer. China is largest wheat producer in the world.
2. Maximum yield is close over most of the world if rainfall is adequate. Wheat stems tend to break down when the grain gets too heavy, so growers have little incentive to fertilize fields beyond what straw will carry. India, or any country with manpower, could grow heavier crops if the intention is to lift the crop manually for cutting. I think that Egypt has had some of the largest crops, but India or China might be able to reach those levels. In Ontario we do use crop lifting rods on combines to recover crops when they do fall down, but the mere act of falling down will typically cause enough loss of grain so that we do not encourage wheat to grow quite that heavy.
