educuational t.v. station?

Does anyone see a need for an educational t.v. station? I was thinking something like the food network channel. I know we have the cartoon network & Nick, but I would like to see shows which promote reading and hands on activities. What do you think?

1. PBS has hands on activities and promotes reading. Its very good for the children
2. There is one that I have seen. It is called Noggin. it says it is commercial free preschool learning shows. I have only seen ads for the station, not the station itself. Do I think we need it? No. I monitor my daughter's TV time very closely. She only watches one or 2 shows per day and they are good ones for her to see. I do not need a whole network for her.
3. There is an educational TV station. It's called KET or PBS where I live.
