How much money to take to New York CIty for 2 weeks, for food, sight seeing and coulple broadway shows??
I am going in May for an art class, and I was just curious on how much i should have saved up before i go. I think we are required to go to a couple broadway shows and art museums, and then i have to pay for eating and sight seeing...any ideas would help!

- Just you? Around $750 - $1000. But be frugal, it goes fast.
- about $500- $1000
- $10,000.00 u.s. currency just kidding of course, I really couldn't tell you, sorry
- depends really on what you want to do and where you stay and what area of the city you'll be in for the most part. But a decent night on the town will probably run you close to $200 keep in mind, everything is overpriced so if there's somethings you can bring with you, do so because you will be overcharged lol...
- Well it depends what you want to see and how much you want to shop and where you plan to eat! Show tickets can be much cheaper if you get them last minute for less popular shows or if you go off-broadway (which is often much more fun!), but if you're planning to see some of the big shows you'll need a lot. Also if you plan to eat at some upscale restaurants your meals could easily be expensive!
- maybe like 1500+
- $1000
- Note on museums: MOMA is free on Friday evenings. Note on Broadway: Go to TKTS in Times Square to get cheap tickets. You can get half price tickets, if they are available. Since you are going to be there for 2 weeks, if you plan on seeing a lot of the city, get a 14 day Metro card. Unlimited rides for 14 days for $47. 1 round trip per day is 14x2x$2 = $56 so if you are going to ride daily, it's a deal. For food, there are a lot of cheap places to eat. Chinatown is always inexpensive.
