What decorations in a freshwater aquarium do you love? And make them stand out?
Hi! I have a 55 gallon freshwater tank and I was wondering what kind of decorations you like in a tank? And what makes them amazing! And also if I can get them at petco, petsmart, walmart ect. Thx. *guppylover*

- I like the pre-sterilized natural rocks that they sell at various places. It makes it really easy to scrub off algae, rather than painted items, which just discolor with age and chip. It makes a really beautiful natural look.
- I use real aquatic plants and lilly pads.
- I found these amazing glass thingies at Walmart. They have stripes and are funky shapes. I have them in a pile with a bubbler under it. Beautiful! In my 10 gallon, I have a hurricane lampshade and a Whisper filter. The kind that makes a waterfall. I have the water level about 4 inches from the top because I love the sound of water. The water falls into the hurricane lampshade (because the waterfall produces a current that's too strong for my betta). I have floating beads in the lampshade, and the water fall keeps them in constant motion. Beautiful. I'm making a dragon out of Sculpty clay. I'm gonna cover the whole thing with a few coats of aquarium sealant so it doesn't hurt my fishies. I love dragons, but the ones available at pet stores are ugly. Future "interior design": I'm designing backgrounds and other "art deco" Sculpty creations. Hey, I'm more of a crafty person than a crazy one. Cheers. P.S. I have 4 aquariums. All are beautiful works of art.
- I like my shiny shells and my castle, its sooooo cool!
- hi i have a 60 gallon tank heres what i did i started out with muli-color rock i can put any color in my tank now because i have blue, pink green what i did because the muli-color rocks are not cheep i got one big bag 25 pounds of bluerocks then 20 pounds of diffrent color rocks and mixed them up i love the green plants but this way you can put anything in there you like
- I've got this cool colosuem type ornament in mine, kinda Roman ruins-esque. Looks really cool, and it has one of those air stones.... dunno if that is the right term.... attached to it... well it did anyway. Had a plecostomus get stuck under the air tube inside the coloseum and die.... air tube is gone now... So yeah, a piece of advice, make sure you have gravel over ALL of your air tubes if you get any, just in case. :'( I wasn't home to find out about him being trapped till it was too late. Petsmart has a great selection of ornaments to put in your tank though, many different sizes and variations ... I love that store.... I can't wait till I have money for my new tank, my Goldies are outgrowing the one they are in.... Anyway, good luck with your watery decorations! Have fun with it and make it your own work of art!
