What is the dress code for nighttime broadway shows in new york?

1. That is a really good question and I look forward to seeing the answer. I will be there in 3 weeks for a night time show. I can't wait.
2. Some people get very dressed up, some people show up in jeans. But mostly people come in business dress code. -- Men wear ties, women in dress slacks or skirts. Enjoy the show!
3. you can dress anyway you want..the days of dressing up to go to a show are gone....but you can dress neat and clean. please leave your cameras ( the big ones ) in your hotel, don't wear fanny packs...dress like other people in the city because the cameras and fanny packs make you out to be a tourist. also the maps if you carry one don't wave it around hide it..thats the easyist way for some damm pickpocket to see you in a crowd. put on some compfy shoes like sneakers or flats. you anit going to know where your going so if its far take a cab...yeah i know that nyc cabbies anit the best in the world but its easyier than taking the subway and getting lost...even when i take a cab the son of a gun trys to take me the long way and i gotta either get out or scream at him. put your wallet ( husband) in your front pocket and for you carry a purse with strong straps so that it can't be cut from you.
4. Conservative, not necessarily expensive, something you enjoy wearing, something comfortable ..... it is refreshing to go out for the evening and wear something different from your daytime clothing ...and if you are going out after the show, you should take that into consideration, too x
5. I guess it depends on the kind of show you're seeing, but everytime I've gone, I showed up in jeans and a top. Everyone else was dressed that way.
6. "Smart" casual. A nice pair of jeans, blouse or nice top (nice shirt - button down or "polo" for guys), nice shoes works out well. If you wanna really dress up you certainly can..but it would be tacky wearing a T-shirt (with some design or saying on it), wrecked jeans and sneakers...though I have seen people do that.
7. Some people dress as if they were on a red carpet. Most men wear casual wear. Jeans must be fitting along with shirt nothing to baggy. shoes hush puppies, deisels,
