What are some good NYC Broadway shows that are out right now?

I heard Wicked was good, I'm thinking about buying tickets, has anyone seen this show or other good ones?

  1. Beauty and the Beast, my daughter just saw it and loved it, my son saw Tarzan, and he liked it!
  2. NOMI IS SEXY
  3. Wicked is very hard to get tickets and not really worth it since the original cast is gone- they cast in it now is still very talented BUT the show has just been overdone. You should really see something that embraces the spirit of what a broadway musical should really be like if you don't know much about the feild. I would suggest "The Drowsy Chaperone," "Avenue Q," "A Chorus Line," "Hairspray" (Diana DeGarmo is hysterical in it) "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee," or even "The Producers" or "Mamma Mia" DO NOT GO SEE DISNEY MUSICALS ! They are full or spectacle but no substance, keep broadway alive by seeing the "real shows"
  4. wicked, les miseralbes, the producers, marry poppins, tarzan, the wedding singer, the phantom of the opera....
  5. We just saw "Grey Gardens" and LOVED it. I hope it will run forever so we can see it again and again! Of course, "Wicked" is a huge hit and very entertaining. The original cast is gone - but that's okay - it's still wonderful. Also, "Avenue Q" is delightful and hysterically funny - but not, necessarily, for children (rough language, sexual situations, etc.). "Hairspray" is fun and "The Drowsy Chaperone" embodies all the things that make a light fluffy Broadway musical so much fun. I have to agree with the poster above - with the exception of "The Lion King," the Disney shows on Broadway don't really cut it. Whatever you choose, have a terrific time!
