Is it possible to get discount tickets to Broadway shows?
We're planning a December visit and a show would be the icing on the cake. Thanks!

- Yes. The TKTS booth in Times Square sells discount tickets on the day of the show.
- try going to ticketmaster.com. I'm sure it is.
- The easiest place to get cheap tickets is the TKTS booth in Times Square. They will have half price tickets to a wide variety of shows. The only catch is that you have to wait on line on the day that you want to go to the show. You cannot get them ahead of time. There is also a downtown location, which might have shorter lines. http://www.tdf.org/tkts/# Another fun option for a lot of shows is the lottery system. Wicked, for example, gives out 28 front row tickets for $25 each about two hours before the show. You go and put your name in and wait to see if you get called. Also, if you have a student ID of any kind, many shows offer student rush tickets for a greatly reduced price. Here is a good list of all the shows and their different discounts: http://www.talkinbroadway.com/boards/index.php?category=&rush=show&order=
- www.broadwaybox.com has discount offers listed, but you'd have to buy in advance of your trip
- some theaters may offer half off-same day prices but usually bad seats-try Ebay under tickets...put in NY and what kind-musical,concert etc....usually good seats and some are not much above face value...good Broadway shows are usually sold out-try at your hotel with the concierge
- Try www.schooltix.com. Discount Broadway show tickets for students. They provide the discount code, so you don't even have to be a student to use it!
- Another online site is theatermania.com
- You can purchase a Broadway Bound Package from NY Waterway for $199/adult you will get the following: Broadway show of your choice (depending what's available), parking included @ Port Imperial, Weehawken, ferry transportation, shuttle services to and from the theatre, and dinner @ Arthur's Landing also @ port imperial (NJ). It is a great deal! Give Jessica a call @ NY Waterway!
