Do people usually act pretty respectful at Broadway shows?

I'm going to see a Broadway show for the first time (I usually see US tours) and I was wondering if people are quiet and don't talk most of the time, because during the US tour shows that I've seen, I always get stuck near people who won't shut up, and it's extremely annoying.

  1. If you talk loudly enough to be heard by the actors and affect the show, you will be kicked out and given no refund of your money!
  2. Think of it this way...you're paying big bucks for a ticket...if people won't shut up then tell a concierge.
  3. Yeah you aren't sopposed to talk during the show in the theater. If there is someone talking, I would tell them to shut up!
  4. at EVERY broadway show i have seen everyone was quiet. EXcEPT at the last one i saw (rent) the two girls next to me WOULD NOT STOP SINGING. before the 2nd act they were kicked out. i didnt hear them although my friend did. and before the show started, a lady was sitting there when seh was kicked out. she had stnading room and no one was in that seat yet so she took it. she asked the person in the seat next to her if they paid for athat seat and he said yes. she wetn back to her standing spot and the other person left. the lady came back and started crawling on the floor IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SHOW by the seats with her big butt sticking up. she was rude but that is all ive seen. i would DEFINITELY recommend RENT to see, GREASE, LEGALLY BLONDE (my favorite three), HAIRSPRAY, A CHORUS LINE (depending on the age, i dindt really like it plus have the people in the theater were 50+), Mary Poppins I thought was terrible but everyone loves it.
