  1. I saw Rent on Broadway and it was pretty amazing, not sure if it's still there though.
  2. There's a show called "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." My friends went to see it last summer and they said it was really good. They got rush tickets for like 25 bucks and sat in amazing seats. It sounds totally random and kind of uninteresting, but you should look it up online and see if it's something you're into. The characters are mainly young kids who are sassy and completely interesting. It's a musical and the music is really good too. I'm not sure if it's still there, but it's worth checking out online to see if you'd like it.
  3. You're so lucky, I love Broadway shows! My personal favorite is Mamma Mia. It's about this girl who finds out she has 3 possible dad's and she invites them all to her wedding in order to find out which one is her real father. All the songs are by ABBA and it's just a fun show. Wicked is also amazing. It's about the wicked witch from the west when she was in college. That's really hard to get tickets to though. I would also recommend Hairspray(The movie came out a little bit ago). RENT is also good, but it can get a bit adult, so if you have younger siblings I wouldn't suggest it.
  4. I went to NYC like 2 years ago with my choir, and we saw Mamma Mia...not sure if it's still there but it was really fun. I mean, being Mamma Mia (based on ABBA songs) it was a little campy, but for Broadway, I think that's a good thing. I think it's a good show to see as a "first Broadway experience" because it's so light-hearted and fun and you might know the songs already... people were getting up and clapping and dancing, so it was just a really good time overall.
  5. If you are a Disney fan, check out Mary Poppins or Little Mermaid. I know the star of the latter, and she has an amazing voice. Plus, it looks stunning! If Disney is not for you, I say go for that old warhorse PHANTOM! It may not be on Broadway much longer, as it's been there 20+ years.
