My Bichon exhibits a strange behavior. He points his snout in the air and gulps at the air. Any ideas?

He usually does this after we come back inside from a walk. He can repeat the behavior for 15 or 20 minutes.

1. Wow that is strange...I've never heard of that before, sorry, no idea!
2. Hy bichion does the exact same thing. He is catching his breath.
3. He's probably having breathing difficultly's. Take it to the vet.
4. I would get your vet to check him. My dog was doing similar things and they ended up treating her for a sinus condition. Even though she didn't have any discharge or other symptoms and now she's good.
5. Need to take a trip to the vet for this. It may sound strange but that is indicative of a brain disorder possible pre seizure activity. Medication may be prescribed.
6. Well, first of all, it's not strange behavior. He's checking the area to see what's happened while he's been gone. This is how dogs pick up scents to know what's been happening. -!-

HI I also have experienced my dog doing this as you put it and I also have a bichon Fraise no joke I relized that when sunlight is out you may see little specticles and my dog and yours as I heard are actually weirdly enough trying to eat it ??? trust me it is definitly a common thing so no worrys you can contact me and ask more questions at heatersweeterluckieeater@yahoo.ca thanks hope i helped
