  1. the pee frequently... may have accidents in house....
  2. Here is a great web site with the information you are seeking. It wouldn't let me copy and paste the information into my answer: http://www.sniksnak.com/cathealth/renal.html
  3. Polydipsia ( drinking to much) polyuria( weeing too much) weight loss lack of appetite lethargy sometimes neurological signs(confusion and in later stages severe depression and even fits) take her to a vet if you are not sure, they can do a blood test to check for problems. It helps to take a urine sample if possible. Fill the litter tray with washed and dried fish tank gravel. Decant into a clean dry pot. Urine samples can check for early kidney disease before changes appear in the blood. If she is really sick though don't delay and call a vet. Other urinary problems in cats include things like: cystitis-causing straining and pain on urination A male cat that is straining to pee should see a vet without delay as they could have an obstruction in the urinary tract which can be very serious.
  4. The most noticeable symptom is an increase in water consumption and urination ("drink-a-lot, pee-a-lot syndrome"). With a urinary problem (or UTI) they may have problems urinating. If your cat has any of these symptoms get it to the vet asap!
  5. When a cats kidneys start to fail they drink alot and when they try to urinate they pass no urine. this is because the kidneys are not working and not filtering the blood of toxins. They become confused and stop eating. Then they just die.
  6. Very wite gums. Not pink at all. Pees alot. Does not act like she/he normal self. Does not want to play or eat just wants to sleep. Good Luck
  7. A list of symptoms commonly seen (but not always): UTI - frequent visiting the litter tray, straining to urinate, urinating peeing only small amounts, blood in urine, urinating in unusual places or outside the litter tray, grooming genital area excessively, crying out or howling when trying to urinate, pacing restlessly, strong smelling urine. Urinary blockage - frequent attempts to urinate, no urine produced, howling, pain, may be possible to feel the distended bladder in abdomen - if not treated as an emergency coma and death can occur inside 24 hours. Death occurs from uremic poisoning. Kidney failure - inappetance, weight loss, vomiting, uremic body/mouth odour, weakness, lethargy, dehydration, depression, drinking more (polydipsia), increased peeing (polyuria) & peeing larger amounts (due to kidney's inability to concentrate urine), mouth ulcers, If a cat can't urinate at all this is a medical emergency - and suggests either a urinary blockage or the very end stage of kidney disease where the kidneys have shut down completely. Cats may not show symptoms with certain kinds of UTI's and may also be symptom-free in very early stage kidney disease. As far as I'm aware white gums are a symptom of anaemia not urinary or kidney problems - although anaemia can occur as a complication of kidney disease. HTH
