can you show a leased horse in eventing shows?

I whant to lease a horse to show in eventing, if you have permission form the owner can you show them? I know at some shows you have to have a bill of ownership. Is that the same with eventing?

  1. I believe that many of the top riders in the world of eventing lease their horses. You would need to have a written contract that stipulates you are leasing the horse for the purpose of competing with it, and that should take the place of proof of ownership. You might want to contact someone from a horseshow in which you are interested in competing (a steward or someone on the judges committee) and ask how the contract would have to be worded, as you abviously do not want to make such an investment and then find out when you get to the show that your contract does not have the required wording.
  2. I think that it should be fine, because i don't think that all owners own a horse. Just make sure it's okay with the owner and maybe ask somebody who used to show in eventing. Or even just contact like the judges or something.
