My monitor displays "out of frequency" when I open warcraft 3.?

I have an Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 256mb videocard so warcraft 3 detects it and opens the game in 1024 x 768 resolution.The problem is my monitor can't display in that resolution so it displays "out of frequency".Please don't answer buy a new monitor.

1. wacraft 3 i beleive has an 'open in safe mode' function... failing that right click on the .exe file to run the game and ensure that the resolution is set below this to what your monitor can run,... and i know you didn't want to hear this... but if your monitor cant display at that resolution if a smidgen obselete.
2. change the resolution option in the settings of the game to use the monitors default settings and not override
3. maybe you are using low resolution monitor. I suggest, better use 15"digital monitor or higher.
