  1. u can try it but if it collapses u can only blame ur self
  2. I bought a stand that said it held 240 lbs and it's not keeping up it's end of the bargain! My tank is only 100 lbs. The average fish tank will weigh ten lbs per gallon when it's established. So your tank will be 450 lbs. Imagine the stand trying to hold two full grown people.
  3. I highly doubt that that stand will hold 450 lbs. I could see that stand crashing. The one thing about TV stands that make them different than fish tank stands is that TV stands are put together using screws. Wrought iron tank stands are soldered together. Also, no aquarium company will cover you if your tank breaks because the stand was inadequate. I'd just buy the tank stand. They aren't that much more expensive.
  4. Dude-- right in the description it says "The RECALLED TV stand..." Meaning... It's been recallled. Probably because it collapses or has some other kind of manufacturer/design defect. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THAT TABLE. Buy some bricks or something-- do NOT buy that table, especially for a fish tank.
  5. Water weighs a little over 8 pounds per gallon, so I don't think this stand would work very well.
  6. no it will not, you will be better off buying an aquarium stand made to hold a 45 gallon tank. It will weigh well over 400lbs.
  7. No, don't use it. Every gallon of water is equal to about 8 - 9 pounds, so that would not hold it. Get yourself an aquarium stand which takes into consideration holding that much weight . I would not mess around with something that could possible give in to that much weight and water.
