Did or will you have a cake stand at your wedding? I hadn't even thought about it but seeing bridal magazines advertising wedding cake stands. I never noticed this before at weddings - thought they just set the cake directly on the table. Is this something you got? If so, were you glad you did because it looked nice in pictures or was it a waste of money?
Wedding cakes on separate cake stands? I am looking for pictures of 3 or 4 wedding cakes on seprate cake stands. They will all be one layer square cakes, all differnt flavors. Any one seen this at a wedding before? Can you show me pictures?

Would you use this project for wedding cake stand? My grandmother has fine wedding china, and I was considering using them for this cake stand idea, http://www.stylemepretty.com/2008/06/03/cake-stands/ Do you think this could be sturdy enough for a small 1-tier wedding cake? I was going to do 3 mini cakes (each enough for 12 servings) and sit them on these plates. Have you tried this? Did it work?

Wedding Cake stand sizes? okay, I'm new to this cake stand stuff. I'm making a wedding cake, 6in,8 in, 10 in. Do I need a cake stand 6in, 8in, 10 in or do they need to be bigger than the cakes? like 8 in, 10in, 12in? I am having a hard time finding a 6 in cake stand.
Where can I find a Christmas wedding cake stand like this one? Many people are trying to find a large sleigh-and-reindeer cake stand like the one on this page: http://www.favorideas.com/wedding-themes/seasonal-themes/glorious-winter-favor-ideas/ No one seems to be able to track it down. Obviously it would cost $$$ but I have no idea where to find it. It looks like something you'd buy from a floral supply shop, though. Any ideas? Only big-budget glossies have the money to stage a set and send out a photographer. This is a stock photo. The article author doesn't know anything about the photo.

Wedding Cake? My mom is making my wedding cake and we have the stand in the picture with the link. I love the cake shown in the picture... Does anyone know if it's just ribbon (if that would work) or if there is some special frosting you have to use, or if you can buy special ribbon. Let me know.. I'm trying to figure out how I can get this to work! Thanks! http://www.ecrater.com/8514/44a93b0a298de_8514n.jpg if we use real ribbon, will the ribbon soak up the grease in the frosting and look spotty?
wedding cake stand HELP!? I've been trying for days trying to find a modern square wedding cake stand. It needs to be 16". My cake is 4 tiers and will have a red ribbon on the bottom of each tier along with a cherry blossom going up the side. Need help with a wedding cake stand!? We are supposed to make a wedding cake dummy for a school project. It should have 3 layers that are separate from each other. Now, the question is, in case we buy this kind of 3-layered cake stand http://img.cheaponsale.com/113486385235184400_s/3_layer_cake_stand.jpg how will we insert the cake dummy into it? O.O Note: My classmates and I are just beginners. Guys, please answer my question first before you just go off suggesting ideas on how to make a wedding cake stand.
How hard it it for a complete beginner to make their own wedding cake? OK looking at the prices £300 for a cake - I dont think so. How hard would it be to make my own wedding cake? I am not a hot shot in the kitchen or anything like that, but it does seem really expensive just for a nice cake. If I buy the stands, ingredients, icing etc how hard is it really for me to make the cake? How much in advance could I make a fruit cake & ice it? Thanks
Wedding cake Sponge and stand question? I am doing a wedding cake for a family member and im having it 3 tier, i have seen the 3 different sizes of already iced sponges i want, but can i stick one on top of the other, or do i need a stand?? will it sink in? or do you think it can hold the weight, because on the pictures they all look like the layers are balancing on each other
has anyone done a cheesecake wedding cake? I'm starting to entertain the thought of having a cheesecake wedding cake. The thing is I have cake stand that I want to use. I was wondering if I could stack cheesecakes on top of one another like a wedding cake or would they be to heavy. Has anyone done this or know anyone who has?
Does anyone have a good recipe for a wedding cake? I am a little new at this. Although I have been baking cakes for quite sometime I am about to make my first "wedding cake" The bride would like a cake with a light chocolatey taste. I need a recipe that is a heavy enough cake that it can be frosted easily and stand up to the wooden dowles that I need to insert between the layers.
Trying to locate 32 cheap cake platters for a wedding? I need 32 glass/plastic, preferrable glass though cake stands. They are to sit in the center of tables at a wedding reception. They need to be able to hold a 10 inch cake. Just your basic one that most people have around the home but I need 32 of them. Any ideas or web sites? Preferrably under $10.00 each if possible.
Opinions on not having a wedding cake? I have been to quite a few weddings and don't really like the taste of wedding cakes. Fondant might look pretty, but it tastes gross (to me at least). I also really don't like the cost of wedding cakes (I know my friends have spent anywhere between $300 and $850 on cake alone). There is a bakery near my house that I LOVE. All of their cakes are delicious. I was thinking about buying 5 round cakes (which, according to the baker's suggested serving size, will more than feed my guests) with each cake being a different flavor and putting them on cute cake stands on the dessert table (which will have an assortment of desserts that a friend is baking and providing for free as a wedding present). All in all the cost will run about $100 for the cakes and the stands. Does this sound like a good idea? Or should I reconsider and get a wedding cake? planner: Because if I just did a traditional tiered wedding cake with buttercream frosting instead of fondant it would still cost more than twice as much as what I'm doing for the same taste.
Help with wedding cake!!? Ok so I have the bakery who is going to make this cake... she asked if we wanted a cake stand, but her cake stands were all really elegant, and obviously this is not an elegant cake.. but she did suggest doing something to elevate it and i said i would work on it!! I am needing some help with the decoration of the cake table. I am not looking for elegant i am looking for an idea to go along with the mario theme... and no not the little kid stuff!! I was thinking putting it up on bricks.. but I do not know.. i was also thinking about putting some color fabric underneath.. but i am also having trouble picking a color. but honestly i am looking for other options as well as additions to my own!! please help!! http://www.beau-coup.com/Images/mario-bros-wedding-cake.jpg
How to display wedding cake? We have a favorite bakery that makes this most delicious cake in various round sizes (6", 12", 16", etc) and also a 1/2 sheet cake. However, this bakery does not do wedding cakes and tiers. Is there a way to order 3-16" cakes and display them on varying heights of cake stands? Or will that look stupid? We want to go with this bakery for a number of reasons: we love their signature cake, the cost is cut in half instead of ordering through caterers, it boosts business for our favorite local bakery. Can anyone post pictures of separated tiered cakes online?
What are some good questions to ask your wedding cake baker? I'm going to start interviewing wedding cake bakeries and wanted to know what are some good questions to ask them prior to going in? So far my list includes: How long have they been in business? How many servings will you get from each size cake. What does the baker charge for handmade decorations and are they cheaper than pre-made decorations. Do you provide cake tops What is their payment policy What are the different types of icings and fillings they offer for their cakes. Anyone got any other ideas or issues I should be concerned about, particularly pricing and extra charges? thanks in advance What is the charge for delivery and setup. Is there an extra charge for cake stands ?
Is it ok to have your wedding "cake" not match the wedding colors? I'm doing a cupcake tier, with a mini-cake on top. My fiance and I love chocolate, which is the flavor for the mini cake. For the cupcake tiers, we are having a variety of cupcakes of different flavors. So I'm trying to figure out a way to make the whole stand seem uniform. If my wedding colors are lavender and red, how can my dessert stand represent those colors?
Serving sheet cake without guest knowing it's not the real wedding cake? I have read to cut on cost serve a sheet cake instead of the actual wedding cake. How do i do this if everyone is standing in front of the cake and then we bring out pre cut cake from the back? I'm not having a server bring the cake out to them so they are going to know they are not getting the actually wedding cake! I love this idea to help with wedding cost, I just need some help pulling it off!
Topsy Turvy Wedding Cake Dilemma!? Hi everyone! I am working on a Topsy Turvy 4-5 tiered Wedding Cake, but the bride does not want the entire cake to be stacked. Instead, I'm looking for an actual cake stand that demonstrates the "Mad Hatter" design or something similar. Anybody know where I can find something like that? Thanks for your help! :)
Making my own wedding cake? Ok, so I can cook/bake/make almost anything (as long as I have directions on some things). Well there probably will only be around 50 guests at our wedding (very small, but at lot of people can't come bc they are out of state). I figured I could make my own wedding cake. Here's my idea. I'm buying a 3 tier cake stand (the plates are different diameters, bottom one biggest, top one smallest). Well I'm wanting to make a 3 layer cheesecake for each tier. They are all going to be chocolate cheesecake and decorated with pink sprinkle sugar stuff and the top one the topper will be on w/a couple of pink lilies on it, and the bottom 2 tiers will just have pink lilies on them. It's looking good in my head, but just wanting some people's opinions on it. Any suggestons will be helpful. I'm doing them choc w/pink decor bc my colors are choc. brown & pink. I'm pretty confifent in my cooking abilities though. Thanks! oh great idea about the ribbon! I'm going to do that too! =) (Oh and I will have plenty of time to make it, like I said its going to be a small wedding). Oh and I'm going to have a practice run next month with my idea, just incase so I have plenty of time to order one, lol!
angel food wedding cake? i'm making a wedding cake for next month, its going to be angel food. i know angel food is difficult to use for a tiered cake, but she insists on it. i plan on making a 2 or 3 tiered cake (10 & 8 & 6 inches round, which is hopefully enough for her rough number of 50-100) but will the cake stand up better and taste the same if i make it in a regular pan? i know it needs a lot of room to rise, but i was thinking if i don't fill the pan as stated in recipes, and make 2 of each, it might work (and be more sturdy). with it being more dense, will it change the flavor? any guidance will be appreciated very much. thanks :) i just read something about using a flower nail to help with cooking the middle and keeping cakes from doming...could it be possible to use a few to make sure it cooks? i live in a very rural area and to get to a city with a specialty shop to get a heater core would be a long trip lol
Ever been to a wedding with a two-tier cake? I've always assumed that I would have a three-tier wedding cake. That's the size of most of the cakes in the pictures you see in wedding magazines and on theKnot. It seems like the standard size....some people go bigger, but 3 tier is about as small as they get for a tiered cake.... As it turns out, though, for budget reasons I'm having a cake that is the only tiered cake that can possibly be smaller than a 3-tier...a two-tier. I'm really nervous -- will it look okay? We got a nice cake stand to put it on so that it will be a little taller (but not too tall...otherwise it would look even smaller!) but I'm still nervous about whether it will look okay. Any advice? Have you seen two-tiered cakes? Did they look too small?
What do you think of this wedding cake idea? This is the wedding cake I'm thinking of, but 1. I don't know if it would look good aesthetically, and 2. I don't know how hard or easy it would be to make... It's an Independence Day wedding(next year, lol), so I was thinking 5 equal sized tiers, separated by short glass cylinders with white flowers in them. The layers would be star-shaped, but each one slightly skewed, so that the overall effect looks like a star column that got twisted. Three layers(1,3, & 5) would be white with a blue ribbon around the base and pearl blue swiss dots, and two layers(2 & 4) would be blue with a white ribbon around the base and pearl white swiss dots. Since it's nearly impossible to find a star-shaped cake stand let alone one with equal sizing for all tiers, lol...in each crevice of the star formation would sit a single red rose...but only on four sides. Along one side, down the entire length of the cake would be a spread of white roses. What do you think of this cake? Does it sound ok?......... How hard or easy does it seem to make? Any suggestions? Thanks. (=
Wedding Cake! Will an E shape stand hold square cakes? Im making my own wedding cake and am looking into the type of stand i need.. I am going to make 3 cakes - a 12" square, 9" square and a 6" square cake... I would like to get an E shape stand but they all seem to have round bases.... Would i just need to buy an appropriately sized E shape stand and then use square cake boards with it?? Help!!
Has anyone made the red velvet cake into a large(14" ) tier for a wedding cake? The bride wants a red velvet cake and I;m not sure if it will hold up as the bottom tier of a stacked(5 tier) cake. I really don't want to do a practice cake of this size, so if anyone has ever done it and if there were any changes that needed to be made to the batter to make it stand up to the pressure of the other tiers ...please let me know.
is angle food cake good to use in a wedding cake? i have been asked to make a wedding cake and with it being my first wedding cake i was wondering if angle food cake was going to be able to stand up to being a good cake to use, its a lot lighter of a cake and because of that i was sure if it would be good to use due to it being more then one tier and going through the icing process. if anyone had tried this or knows because of making one any help would be greatly appreciated

Where can I find a specific wedding cake topper? I'm looking for a very specific wedding cake topper for a friend. The groom is standing upright, and the bride has her hand placed on his chest with her head slightly tilted. Does anyone know where I can find this topper? Thanks! http://stellarcakeco.com/gallery.html The topper I'm looking for is on the 5th wedding cake down on the right side. The bride called the cake company and they have nothing to do with the toppers. Where can I find this specific one??
Wedding Cake Question? I am having a 1 round 3 layer cake on a cake stand for cutting, sheet cakes and then I was also going to have my family bake some pies (my fiance doesn't like cake). We are inviting about 340 people. I was just wondering how much pie and cake I should have? Whats with the redneck comments?? Do only rednecks like to eat pie?
how to make a chocolate wedding cake? im making my own wedding cake we have over a year to practise so thought id play around so its perfect on the day. ideally we are wanting a chocloate wedding cake its going to be on a stand so it would be tiered. is there any nice chocolate recipes out there that arent rich and how do i ice it tried looking on the net and they do fruit cake which i really dont want. once we have baked the cake whats next we are wanting either black or red icing too any ideas would be great ta
which would look better for a wedding cake? Need to use a bit of imagination, we are doing a cupcake wedding cake, we really like the idea and have not found any other cakes we like. We have narrowed it down to two options. Option 1: Traditional cupcakes with white swirl icing, not as many sprinkles as this and no candle, http://www.mycupcakerecipes.com/cupcakes/cupcake-recipes.jpg in these liners http://www.bakerscups.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=1_15&products_id=89 these liners are the exact shade of my shoes and the grooms pocket square or Option 2 http://www.ladyscreations.net/cupcakes_040_Large_Web_view.jpg with a lighter purple and darker sprinkles that match the shoes and pocket square in white liners to be displayed on something like this http://www.weddingcupcakes.org/images/wedding_cupcake_stand.jpg and we may make a matching mini cake to actually do the traditional cutting of the cake for the bride and groom for the top thanks. Diana - I just had one of those wow I never thought of that moments lol thank you! I like the idea of using the liners with both purple and white icing swirls, should they alternate by colored tier like one all purple, the next all white, or should the colors alternate on each tier? The wedding is elegant with some fun twists, hard to describe without going into massive details I think its going to be a very fun night but nothing outrageously outgoing, if that makes any sense
Cup-Cake Stand? Rather than purchase a wedding cake, we chose to go with the 120 cupcakes that the vendor included in our contract for our reception. My fiance and I are looking for a place that rents OR sells cupcake stands in the state of California or Arizona. We have no use for a cupcake stand after the wedding, so we would prefer renting one. We might also have the option to downsize it to 80 wedding cupcakes since we have roughly 40 guests. I might be able to rent tiered cake plates for them too?
Wedding cake options? So i was wondering whats your opinions on wedding cakes. Do you like the tradition kind with about 3-5tiers and a bride & groom on top? For example - http://adaofcourse.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/traditional-wedding-cake2.jpg Do you like a traditional wedding cake with a few tiers and flowers not bride and groom? For example - http://www.wedding-flowers-and-reception-ideas.com/images/wedding-cake-flowers-03.jpg Do you like a modern wedding cake with tiers and a bride and groom? For example - http://farm1.static.flickr.com/144/367263532_4e713ff6d0.jpg Do you like a modern wedding cake with iced flowers or decorations? For example - http://whiskingwords.files.wordpress.com/2008/03/wedding_cake_corner1.jpg Do you like the cupcake / fairy cakes look with about 20 small cakes and 1 big one? For example - http://www.apieceofcake.com.au/images/wedding/wedding_square_individual_cakes.jpg Do you like the wedding cake with two tiers and a flower on the top? For example - http://www.blossomweddingflowers.co.nz/p7hg_img_1/fullsize/Cake-flowers-rose_fs.jpg Do you like the fairytale wedding look cake that's all fantasy? For example - http://www.theicingonthecake-ireland.com/2008pics/wedding/fairytale.jpg Do you like the wedding cakes that have a stand and are separate cakes? For example - http://www.weddingsvalley.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/wedding-cake.jpg Also, if you like any kind of other cake, what would it be? can yodon'tclude pictures, Is it ok ifalmost a sponge filling? as i dont like fruit cake because i understand alomost every wedding cake is fruit. x Sorry about some spellings, my laptop has a mind of its own. I was meant to say - If i didnt list the type of cake or you would like to say a different type can you please add pictures if you can and is it ok if i have a sponge filling in my cake as most wedding cakes are fruit cakes and we dont like fruit cake. x
cake stand? Hi, I'm looking for a wedding cake stand. Our daughter is having cupcakes with a solid cake on top for cutting. I have seen a casa domani 4 tier stand on ebay (missed out on it), but can't find one anywhere to purchase. We liked this one because it was "Chantilly Lace" pattern, however are interested in anything that may be similar. We can't find more than 3 tiers of any ceramic type at the moment, and they just aren't big enough. We are in Sydney and would love some feedback! Thanks.
How do you share the wedding cake? I have seen where the bride and groom cuts the cake, but how does that go? Do we stand there and cut 200 pcs, of cake, or does someone else do that?
Help with wedding cake/cupcake ideas....? My fiance & I are considering this for our wedding cake: We would have a small (maybe 2-tiered?) traditional cake for the cake-cutting ceremony. Then in place of the groom's cake have a stand of chocolate cupcakes to be served to the guests. Another idea I had was to have a large tiered stand of cupcakes, with half of them white (for the 'bridal cake') & then the other half chocolate (for the groom's 'cake' ). So if you saw the stand from the front, the left side would be all chocolate & the right side all white. If we did this, should we forget the small traditional cake all together & just do cupcakes? Which idea do you like better? Any thoughts/ideas are appreciated! Just so you know, we are having a laid-back, outdoor wedding in the fall. Between 80-100 guests.
My wedding is in June, what stands out at weddings? I have a lot of plans but I like to be orginally, What dtands out at weddings that you love. The free bar, the favors edible or not?? The music?? The wedding dress?? The cake?? What else would stand out??
Gay Wedding Cake Toppers? Does anyone know where I can find gay wedding cake toppers? NOT two identical men just standing next to each other. I want an interaction between them. And I want it to be classy. Is it out there?! Thanks Something like this, very elegant and beautiful, but for two men. http://www.tableandhome.com/prodhbccf
Ideas for a pink, black, and white wedding cake? Okay, sooo... just one week ago exactly, my fiance of 2 years and I decided we wanted to get married soon because we keep waiting for the perfect time and it just never seemed to happen. So, the wedding is June 23. So, I need some ideas quick like. haha. Okay, I want my colors to be pink, black, and white, and I've been searching the web forever looking for ideas for a pink, black, and white cake. Found some that were okay, but I'm not a frilly type of gal... and all the cakes seemed to be all flowers and ribbons. Not into that sort of thing. Sooo, if any of you have any ideas, links, or could be any help at all... PLEASE help. haha I'm on a veryyy tight timeline... and I'm going nuts trying to find something I like. I want a sort of hot pink, something that will stand out. Nothing too pastel. Anyway, Thanks in advance! :)
Where can I find 8 in. tree stumps to use as pie stands? I'm having a fall wedding up in a Duluth, MN and would like to find 20-25 tree stump pie stands. As I've searched online I've seen many tree stumps used for under the wedding cake, so they are rather large. I'm looking for small wooden tree stump stands, to rent or buy, that would fit one pie. Thanks for any help you can give me!
Fondant cake for outdoor reception in summer...? I will be making my best friend's Wedding Cake this coming summer. It's for an outdoor reception with climate possibly between 75 deg.F to 93 deg. F in the summer...... but I have doubts if the Fondant Cake can stand under the heat of the sun without the icing weeping or melting. I have done 2 fondant cakes before but it was indoors and in an air-conditioned area.....
What can you recommend for a private San Juan wedding? My fiance and I are going on a week-long honeymoon cruise that leaves San Juan, Puerto Rico docks at 10pm on March 2nd of 2008. We would like to get off our plane, go to a private area and have a brief wedding ceremony, eat a nice dinner in San Juan in our wedding garb, and get on the boat (still in our wedding garb). We want to keep this is simple as possible- NO fancy decorations, NO big wedding cakes- I'm even bringing my own boquet. I've been combing the internet for weeks and keep coming across the same issue- people wanting 1000+ just to coordinate- this doesn't include cost of beach reservation, officiant, and license arrangement. I'm so frustrated I can hardly stand it. We just want 30 mins- in and out- no muss no fuss. I can arrange my own photographer, my meals, etc. A question for PR locals- is it cheaper, do you think to start searching outside of San Juan? Can you recommend places? I would sincerely appreciate all info you can provide.
Mary's Moo Moos Wedding Cake Topper Does anyone know where I can find a Mary's Moo Moos Wedding Cake Topper. I want the one of the bride on the John Deere tractor with the Groom standing beside it. I have looked on Ebay and found one but it is completely out of my price range. I would appreciate any help. It's not so much the redneck thing. I am having a country wedding. My fiance is an serious collector of John Deere, diecast tractors. It just seemed a fun way to incorporate the two. I've tried the weddingpeople site but the item has been discontinued but that's the right one nonetheless.
Does anyone have a photo of a wedding cake made on black pedestals? We are investigating the possibilities, I have bought some black stands for that purpose. The cake will be quite large, so using several different stands, but want to get a visual idea of where we might go with it, before actually baking this cake. Thanks to anyone who can offer a pic. I did find one small one online.

HELP ASAP..how to make a cake stand? I'm using a Wilton fountain for my wedding cake this saturday, I don't like any of the ugly separator plates and pillars that are out there plus there darn expensive, I want to make a plywood circle 16 in in diameter with dowels for the support legs, I figured the dowels need to clear the fountain so need to be about 13-14 in in height, the cake is alternate chocolate frosting and white frosted stacked tiers, i'm using fall colours for decorations, should I paint the dowels? wrap ribbon around them? decorate with glued gems? wap fall leaves? and how would I undertake the construction of the cake stand itself..so I screw everything together? I'm guessing I would need a bottom plywood circle as well.....I just want to make the stand stable! ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!!!!!! I was on wilton's site again...and I really don't want to use their product, they are cheap looking, the white will not work, with all the fluffy fillegree patterns on them, and the clear I just don't like, I have made cake stands before but not for a high cake, and they do not look cheap, i've done them with mosaic stones and glass beads, hey end up looking like they are expensive, I do not want an all white cake.....my preferance I don't really like them, they're kinda boring, thanks for your reply, but you weren't of much help, being told my cke preferance is wrong and my ideas on my stand basically suck, really isn't much help to me.
Cake in Chicago? A dietitian was once addressing a large audience in Chicago. "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago. Red meat is awful. Soft drinks erode your stomach lining. Chinese food is loaded with MSG. Vegetables can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water. But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have, or will, eat it. Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?" A 75-year-old man in the front row stood up and said, "Wedding cake" A wedding cake IS enough, I think.
I need help with Wedding Cake!? We are getting married on July Fourth and we want everything red white and blue including the cake. I have a family member willing to make it for us at no charge just have to know what I want it to look like. Here is what I am thinking about- four double tiers white icing with half strawberrries standing on end all the way around bottom of each tier and finding small blue artificial flowers to put between every few stawberries. What do you all think or do you have any better ideas? Also the family member making the cake has made many cakes. She has made three already this year and all were wonderful but she has been making the family wedding cakes for more than fifteen years. Thanks for all the advice from all!
If you have an ivory dress, should you have a white or ivory cake? I read somwwhere that if you have a ivory dress, then you should have an ivory cake, as if you opted for a white cake, when you stand next to it it can make your dress look an 'off colour'. Every one is saying "NO" I should have a white cake, as it goes with my other colour better (my colours are ivory/lilac) but i dont know. What does everyone think? PLease help I have to let them know what I want asap as my wedding in in 3 months Thanks

HELP! Does anyone know where I can find? a 2 tier cake stand for a bundt on the bottom and a small round for the top. I'm making my own wedding cake and want to elaborately decorate the bundt and have the cake stand come out in the middle through the hole and have the small round cake sit 4 1/2 -5 inches above. I have been searching but cannot find one. Any information where I can find one would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Searching for a cake stand to hold about 200 cupcakes!? For our wedding, my fiance and I are planning on having a "cupcake cake" rather than an actual cake. We're going to serve a couple different flavors that way people can choose what they like. Now, though, I am searching for some kind of tiered cake or dessert stand that can hold about 200 cupcakes. Most of the ones I've found max out around 50 or so. Or the really large ones cost almost $200. I mean, I guess if all else failed we could have a couple stands. But I would love to find one that could hold them all if possible and not be so expensive. Thanks so much!
Making Cup Cakes for Wedding -Container? My friend is making our Wedding Cake out of cup cakes. We have purchased a 7 tier mirror stand from Ebay that will fit approx 150 cake on nicely. What we need to knwo is if anyone has any tips on how to store as many as 150 cup cakes? does anyone know where we can get good containers? and could we sit them on top of each other? (is there such a thing as a cup cake storage box?) Any tips? anyone?? Thanks in advance!! PS we are having them blue white and silver!
Wedding Lists? We're trying to sort out our wedding invitation list, while we want as many people there as we can, we are both pretty poor and our parents cannot help financially for the wedding. Would it be bad form to invite only the friends we know, without their wives, boyfirend/partners etc? At £25 per head, it seems a bit too much for us to pay for some food for someone we dont know. Im thinking of people like work colleugues and wider friends who's partners we have never met, not family members. I should say, we're having and afternoon tea rather than sit down meal: sandwiches, cakes, tea/coffee, victorian china cups and saucers, cake stands, some wine, champaigne for toasting. The whole event is only going on until 7pm at the latest. So what do you think? Perhaps we just shouldnt invite them at all then?
Chocolate hearts for wedding cupcakes? As some of you know we are having a chocolate themed wedding. Our cake is made up of one 7" cake on the top with several layers of cupcakes on a stand below. The cupcakes will be of vanilla and chocolate but will all be wrapped in a gold foil paper that has a heart filigree punched out of it. They will all have an ivory colored white chocolate flavored frosting. I also want them to have little milk chocolate filigree hearts on each one, but I'm having a terrible time trying to find them, or even a web site that shows you how to make them yourself. Any ideas? Or has anyone even seen a cupcake like this? Sort of like this only smaller http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.wedding-flowers-and-reception-ideas.com/images/cupcake-wedding-cakes04a.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.wedding-flowers-and-reception-ideas.com/cupcake-wedding-cakes.html&h=363&w=360&sz=21&hl=en&start=28&sig2=O_qitz22BWOw-tKUSmEetQ&um=1&tbnid=WJlsPJjMimUnDM:&tbnh=121&tbnw=120&ei=-rPFR9-dMpPIea3roOcN&prev http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.icedweddingcakes.com.au/SiteMedia/w3svc581/Uploads/Images/07c4642b-ce1b-44fe-9b2a-a8680218189f.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.icedweddingcakes.com.au/Content_Common/pg-CupCake-Wedding-Cakes.seo&h=460&w=352&sz=39&hl=en&start=93&sig2=i7cyKK4SrgS6kHiOrzJNpA&um=1&tbnid=2JvxgpceCay2qM:&tbnh=128&tbnw=98&ei=VrTFR-yrLaHoeZ2pqPoN&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwedding%2Bcupcakes%26start%3D80%26ndsp%3D20%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN http://fancyflours.files.wordpress.com/2007/09/cupcake-wrapper-white-filigree1.jpg
Cake Question??? HELP!!!? My wedding is less than 3 months away (August 8th), and I was just informed today by my mother that the bakery we're getting our cake through does not have a three tiered, silver plated cake stand that will hold cupcakes on the bottom two tiers and a small round cake on the top. I have looked all over the internet and I can find three tiered cupcake trays but they have the foundation or "pillar" holding the tiers above each other going right through the top making it impossible to use a small round on the top. The only other silver plated cake things I've been able to find thus far is a silver plated footed base which are nice but no dice without more tiers. Does anyone know where I could find one, preferably to rent but will buy if I have to, in Des Moines, IA or online? I would even use a footed silver plated base and a three tiered glass one if someone could show me what I needed and how to put it together. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thank you in advance!!! My cake will look a lot like these do. I want the stand to do the same thing... http://design-wedding-cakes-pictures.blogspot.com/2006/10/elegant-unique-wedding-cupcake-pictures.html http://www.flickr.com/photos/82515593@N00/1385137313/
fondant cake for outdoor reception in summer...? I will be making my best friend's Wedding Cake this summer. It's for an outdoor reception with climate possibly between 75 deg.F to 93 deg. F in the summer...... but I have doubts if the Fondant Cake can stand under the heat of the sun without the icing weeping or melting. I have done 2 fondant cakes before but it was in an air-conditioned area.....
Unique Wedding Topper Ideas? Me and my fiance are marrying in may. We want a wedding cake topper, but don't want it to be the traditonal Bride and Groom just standing there. We still want it to be like that(a bride and a groom), but doing something fun or some characters in a bridal gown and veil and a tux. We were thinking Precious Moments...but weren't too sure! Pictures too please if you can! Thanks in advance! Anna, I loved that idea! But I hate eBay! Do you think you could give me a link not on eBay? Kaitlin, your link isn't working.... Oh, thanks Kaitlin!
