Can someone give me some interesting places where and on what to plant grass seeds ? Can anyone give me some interesting artistic ways in which I can use grass as an art form or just to plant it in other ways except on my lawn. I took a plastic Coke bottle, filled it with soil and threw in some grass seeds. Its now stands nice and tall inside the Coke bottel and overflows like hair where it exits the mouth of the bottle. Its fun to trim it because you can layer i like hair or cut it nice and short, its such an attractive feauture. I read somewhere that you can plant grass on a lava rock because the rocks so rich in nutrients that it grows extremely fast. A friend of mine took her silk stalkings, filled it with soil, threw in some grass seeds and made a knot at the end. She sewed 2 buttons on for the eyes and a big one for the mouth and it forms a little face with green hair which she can cut when it gets too long. So any people out there that have any other interesting ideas of what to do with grass except sowing it on a lawn, please let me know. Its a lotta fun !
I am trying to find the best way to start a new plant from an existing plant/tree.? The plant/tree that I am trying to reproduce is almost like a rubber tree, except the leaves are not thick like one. I am not sure as to what it is called. I rcvd 1 year ago and not doing well. Yet with a bit of TLC it now has at least 3 new leaves popping out at any given time. They (the leaves) start outstraight like spine wrapped in a leve then the outside sheds & wala, leave unrolls. Roots showed on botttom 5" so I simply covered them with some existing dirt. Now it even has a new limb with about 10 leaves growing out of the area of stem by the dirt. (that is the one that I was thinking of cutting and trying to grow) Should I cut it and put it in water with a bit of plant food?? or should I do the same but in dirt, or????? Thank you.. The tree stands about 4 and 1/2 feet tall now 4 feet widewell foilage. There are actually 5 stems coming from the ground none of them being fatter than 1/2 inch. the leaves are aprox. 5"x7" teardrop shaped. Thank you again
What signals the end of the life of a vegetable plant in a climate like Southern California? I learned that Southern Californians can garden all year long because it doesn't get colder than 60 degrees. Apparently a pepper plant, for instance, can be productive for over a year. My question is, does the pepper / tomato plant just stop making peppers after a year but still stand there looking green, so that the gardner notices that it's not producing and then digs it up and replaces it? Or does the pepper plant get brown and die on its own? I've always lived in the midwest, where the first frosts kill off all plant life off in the winter, so this is new information for me.

How do I care for my indoor Yucca plant, that is in poor shape? I have a yucca plant that I rescued from my mother. During a few of the winter months here in Washington state, she left the plant in the cold. This is the type of Yucca that grows very tall and has one single stalk with leaves that grow from top to bottom. It was in a small pot, and standing around 4 feet tall. The leaves now are dead and dried on the ends and edges. Some leaves are still green in the middle area. This is the shape of the majority of the plant. The stalk feels strong and thick, and the new shoots are green and doing well. I have since transplanted the plant into a bigger pot, and set it in a well lighted area in my apartment. I was wondering if I should cut the brown off the leaves, or let them go? Do you have any care tips for indoor Yucca plants? Any help is greatly appreciated.
What is a good plant to put on top of an entertainment center? I have a rather large entertainment center. It has the 2 sides and then the TV stand in the middle. The top looks rather bare and I was thinking of putting a plant of some sort on the top. It can't be too heavy as I don't want it falling through! And would need to be easy to maintain. Would prefer something that would grow the length of the top of the entertainment center. I thought of ivy, but I had some and it died rather quickly. I did also have a philadendron on the top but it didn't fare to well either. It's still alive but prefers more light than it was getting. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Tomato Plant Fungi? I have an indoor tomato plant, artificial lighting and heat. So far my plants are still babies, only standing about 3 inches high, with few leaves. About a week ago I noticed some fungi growing - looks just like Mushrooms. I carefully dug them out, with the soil around it, so as not to disturb the tomato plants. The next day they were back. I keep pulling them out, and bought a Fungicide. They are still growing. How can I get rid of them? Are they harmful to the plant? If not harmful to the plant, are they harmful if I feed them to my family? Thank you in advance for all your suggestions!!
Turtle Island Plant owners.? Everyone said my Turtle Island plant was a very tall weed. I found the card in the ground (damaged, of course) to prove them wrong. The rooting system is very strong. Can't find a picture of this plant thus far. If you have this plant, how tall does your stand. Mine is about 4.5 feet or maybe closer to 5 feet. What does the flower look like. Mine has not bloomed in a couple of years. Help would definitely be appreciated. Thank you.
I recieved a plant from Quill Corp. as their preferred cust. Anyone know what kind of plant it is? I recieved a plant from Quill the office supply company because my company is a prefered cust of theirs. For the life of me I cannot figure out what it is and its really annoying me. I tried looking up house plants online, I've called Quill about it. I just want to know what the heck this plant is. Its just annoying like when you have a song stuck in your head and you can't remember the name. Anyway , it looks similar to the money tree plant but it doesn't have the five leaves on a branch. It stands about 11 inches tall and has shinny leaves.
What is the best plant ? I have a private fence on my back yard 6ft high, and would like to cover it with plant that grows on the fence wall. I would also like to secure the fence by growing such plant so that the fence wall would stand stronger. What is the best kind? Eventually I will be making some sort of area with a pond garden. I have one acre. Thanks. I am in Central Florida. I also do not want anything sticking out like Rose, it can harm the animals comes up or run up by the fence I have. Thanks.
