Why do plasma and lcd tv stands cost so much? I shopped around looking for a tv stand for my 50 inch plasma tv and found that majority of them cost $200 on up. Today I seen a basic looking stand at Best Buy and was shocked to learn that the price was $799. That's crazy! It seems like the people who make the tv stands know we want the stands and they're just putting any price on them even though the items are not even worth that much.
What's the best web site to buy LCD TV stands? I'm looking for a stand for my new 40 inch LCD TV, but I need one with cabinets/drawers below it that can store media (cd's, dvd's, etc). This is so I can kill two birds with one stone since I don't want to mount the LCD to my wall.

Many TV stands have mounting brackets. I am planning to buy a 37" flat LCD TV. Will it need mounting brackets? I know the TV will stand without the brackets, but I have a teenage son and a couple big dogs. I even have a cat that may try to jump on it. The stands I have seen that I like do not have the mounting bracket. Should I get a stand with the brackets so that the TV is more stable and less likely to be knocked over?

How wide does a flat-panel TV stand need to be? All the plasma and LCD TV stands I see imply that a stand should be as wide as the TV itself. I can understand a weight maximum for safety's sake, but is there any reason why a stand needs to be wider than the actual base of the TV, instead of the screen of the TV?

Vizio Gallevia 47 Inch LCD TV Stand? So I bought this TV from my friend for 75 bucks cause he didn't want it anymore and it was my B-Day. The only thing was he didn't have the screws for the stand. And to my understand I need washers and screws to put it on the TV stand that it originally came with. Now, I don't want to haul the TV and the Stand to Lowes just to see what screws and washers I need. So if anyone can help me out point me in the right direction that would be great. How to properly install an LCD TV with one person? Please explain how a 46" LCD TV can be properly installed with one person. The manual recommends two, getting the TV right side up out of the box and putting the TV onto the stand the same way. LCD TV LG keeps switching to stand by mode each time? Please help. My lcd tv lg 32lc56 keeps going on stand by mode, when it is switched on. If given a rest and then switched on, it somtimes play for a longer time and then switches again to stand by mode. Please assist as i cannot find anyone to help me. Is it wise to place my lcd tv in front of a window? I want to place my tv in front of a window in my living room. This is the only place where i can get a great view of my tv and gain a lot of room in my living room. Its not going to be mounted in front of the window but its going to be on a tv stand. Now i have heard that if you put something electronic in front of a window it will attract dust quicker. So i was told by my computer teacher and i cant remember if i read that also. Our Mogen LCD TV keeps resetting itself and has to be re-tuned? We have an annoying long-standing problem with our LCD television. When we switch on the TV, we find the channels we have set have all disappeared. "TV1 No Sync" appears on the screen and we have to go through the tuning process again. This happens quite regularly. I have always heard that you need to transport a flat screen tv standing straight up or it will break. I am getting a new one soon and I will be transporting it myself. Help! Did you answer my question last week on Plasma vs LCD TV? I want to thank everyone on the advice. Last week I bought a Sharp 46" LCD TV. It was on sale for $2,299 ($500 off regular price). It was a little pricey for my budget, but it's supposed to be the best flat big screen around, so I treated myself. Of course after the extended warranty, special cable, TV stand & taxes I ended up spending $2,900. After connecting my surround sound system to the new TV it was awsome.

Is the LCD tv more realistic to pets, specifically cats? My cat has never found interest in our old tube television. However, the LCD tv we bought has lured my cat into the living room many nights. Lcd and external tv box combined with a ps3? I have an old Lcd mag 15.4" monitor that I would like to use with my ps3. Alternative way to mount lcd tv? I have a 26 inch lcd tv i want to mount on a wall, the problem is i live in rented accomodation so can not bolt it into the wall. widescreen HD lcd tv. do they wobble? looking at getting a 20" widescreen tv (hd lcd),but when i was looking at it in shop, seemed it was quite unstable (wobbled if leant against in any way). I have a large floor standing tv holder (wooden) standing between two towers, so access is ok, not going to be knocked often, but do have a toddler (tearaway), and was worried it may topple easily (dont want to pay lots out and have it smashed by kiddy). Looking for TV entertainment center / stand / anchor for 50" LCD or Plasma TV? I'd like something that can hold various components like cable box and DVD player. I need a stand/unit for my LCD Tv? I want a stand that actually hides my TV. Like those that lift it out by remote or something....any ideas where I could get something like that?
i have been looking for a stand for an lcd tv (store did not give me the one it came with) 23hl84. any suggest this is a 23"flat screen tv. if the stand is not available, how do i "prop it up so i can watch it??
we bought this LCD tv and not happy with it, help please? we bought a Bush 32" LCD tv today but the quality of the picture is almost useless. if you've looked at the showroom for LCD's in different stores you will have noticed the difference between LCDs with a very clear, crisp picture and ones that look slightly 'fuzzy', like the focus on an object is slightly out, or like you're sat to close to the screen. well we have the fuzzy pictured one, and constantly have had to play around with the brightness and colour each time we watch something different. do we have the right to take it back? we still have all the packaging and stuff but we have fixed the stand to the TV. it wasn't excluded from money back guarantee, just says to be returned in unused saleable condition. but it was well below our expectations, do we have the right to take it back?
EASY 10 POINTS, Is a 32" LCD TV too big for.....? A computer monitor? My bro has a 26" samsung lcd tv for his computer monitor and also uses it to play games. It is perfectly fine iv'e sat and use his pc with that tv and it didnt hurt my eyes or anything. I am buying a 32" one for my room so i thought i might aswell do what my bro done and just place it on my desk and use it for both my PC and my game console which will also save money on buying a stand for my for tv. Do you think a 32" LCD TV is too big for a computer monitor? Does anyone else have 1 this big for their pc?Thanks

TV in Car hook-up? I am looking at getting a 13 to 15 inch tv for my car(not an overhead, a regular lcd stand tv). i already have my xbox 360 plugged into the cigarette lighter and it works fine. What i am wondering is how should i hook up the tv, should i run it to the car battery(but will it drain it with both the xbox 360 and tv hooked up?) Should i run another battery in the car, should i run both off the 500watt cigarette lighter adapter i have now. Also if i run it to a battery what are those cables called to hook up to the positive and negative? Any answers
Cracked LCD TV - Accidental Damge Insurance Claim UK? UK only please becaise i know it is different in USA i have accidentlly cracked my lcd tv as it has fell of the stand whilst i moved it for cleaning is this a valid claim and what will i receive if i claim?
